GaryJohnsonGOP 300x200 Gary Johnson Versus the Grand Old Party*Written by Rob Rimes.

Truth is treason in the empire of lies.” – Ron Paul

If the treatment of Dr. Ron Paul and his delegates at the Republican National Convention a few weeks ago didn’t turn you off from the GOP, I don’t know what will. I mean, if you supported Paul and are able to just kick back, accept what happened to him and keep on toeing the line for a party that hates everything you stand for – to the point of committing blatant tyranny against its own, there may be no helping you. Go ahead and vote for Romney. Go ahead and push your conscious aside one more time. Go ahead and continue to pretend that one of two bad choices is actually going to effectively change this obviously rigged system. However, if you have finally woken up, good for you because the Republican Party is throwing its weight around, once again, in an attempt to shut up real constitutional conservatives and libertarians.

The GOP is frightened because even though they discarded Ron Paul like a dirty dishrag, the ideals and philosophies that Dr. Paul represented are alive and well and most importantly, they are growing. The Republican Party thinks that they can keep silencing the voices and push us aside but they are learning what every bully eventually does – that if you keep pushing people around and keep disrespecting them, they will fight back. The time for playing nice is well behind us and the GOP certainly doesn’t deserve the “benefit of the doubt” from the real liberty lovers out there. They’ve squandered every opportunity and they’ve burnt enough bridges to be an island to themselves.

That doesn’t mean that the GOP doesn’t want our vote. They treat our heroes like shit and boss us around but still demand that we support them! “Ron Paul is gone! Now vote for Romney!”, they say. “A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Obama!,” they warn. It’s all bullshit but unfortunately, too many people still buy into this asinine logic. Fuck all that! A vote for Gary Johnson IS a vote for Gary Johnson! It’s a vote for the last guy left in this freak show that actually has some stones, isn’t going to be pushed around by his party’s masters and represents what most of us sane people believe no matter what side of the political spectrum we come from: left, right or center. Too many people are starting to realize this however and of course, to protect themselves per usual, the Republican Party has to tyrannically use their power in an effort to stop this threat.

Gary Johnson is supposed to be on the ballot in all fifty states. Opposing that, the Republicans are doing their damnedest to stop him. In Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Michigan, the Republican Party has gotten Gary Johnson removed from the ballot! Selling their souls just to get ahead, the GOP in these three states are employing the same sort of shady tactics that their party used in multiple states during the primaries, in an effort to hold Ron Paul’s head underwater. Election fraud isn’t something unfamiliar to either of the two big parties and the Republicans have been running rampant with it since January. In fact, I’ve written about it numerous times while covering the 2012 Republican primaries.

So essentially, the Republicans are limiting our choices in an attempt to force us to vote for their Golden Boy. How freedom-loving of them! Personally, I can’t believe the audacity of the GOP – thinking that those who would vote for Gary Johnson are going to just take it in the ass. Ron Paul supporters certainly fought back and many – if not most – of the people backing Johnson, are those same Ron Paul supporters and they are very privy to these dirty GOP hijinks. Even if the Republican Parties of these states prove successful in their evil ways, do they assume the Johnsonites are going to join the Mitten Club? They are actually dumb enough and dense enough to think “yes”. Realistically, whether they succeed or not, Johnsonites won’t vote for Romney and using the GOP’s lame logic, both scenarios would just generate a vote for Obama anyway.

Luckily for those of us backing Gov. Gary Johnson, he has successfully got himself back on the ballot in Pennsylvania and is now moving on to fight the GOP-sabotaged political system in Oklahoma and Michigan. With over 20,000 valid signatures from supporters in the Keystone State, Johnson was able to convince the court 2-1 that he belonged in this race. Funny how the system works, considering that Republicans and Democrats only need 2,000 valid signatures to appear on the state’s ballot. Will Johnson be as successful in conquering the beast in the other two states? Time will tell I guess.. but time is running out.

Despite what happens, this is just another example of how the two party system is designed to hold back other choices. What is it that they fear? Ultimately, it is a loss of power, money and prestige. What we have to lose is far greater however, as our losses are liberty, freedom and choice. The Republicans and the Democrats don’t care about that though and it is blatantly apparent through their actions. Frankly, in Gary Johnson, they fear a guy that promotes the majority of the Ron Paul platform while being an outsider who was actually an insider not too long ago. Gary Johnson gets it, has real solutions and has experienced the game from just about every political angle. Chances of him winning this year are slim – lets be honest – but four years from now or eight years from now, when he has more high level political experience under his belt and more time to promote his message without being in the shadow of Dr. Paul, this man could be a serious force to be reckoned with.

Both major parties can keep playing these games and keep rigging the race but they better understand that the more they do it and the more they try to get away with it, the quicker the truth will be exposed. People are angry and they aren’t going to keep rolling over for the establishment. Many will, of course, but eventually it will shift and those bastards shoveling their bullshit in our direction, will be forced to eat it.
