Obama didn’t go to Arlington, get over it!

So, all I’ve heard for days now is how much of an unpatriotic asshole Barrack Hussein Obama is for having the audacity to not show up at Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day. Get over it ass clowns! The conservative half of the media is acting like he’s the first president not to do so, that’s complete bullshit. Glenn Beck, a false prophet under the banner of libertarianism, stated, “[Obama] has decided not to honor our troops on Memorial Day. Maybe this has happened before. I don’t recall it.” Of course he doesn’t recall it because doing so would thwart his agenda. Flipping out about this is an EPIC fail by the conservative media.

For the record, see that pic up there? That’s Obama at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day. He was there last year, this year he opted out to go to the Lincoln National Cemetery just outside of Chicago. Is there something so horrendous in our president going to his home before Washington D.C. to celebrate Memorial Day with the people who helped bring him to national prominence? The conservative media, mainly Fox News, likes to point out that Obama is vacationing and not giving a shit about the troops. They’re really grasping for straws here and it’s pretty pathetic.

So back to Beck’s statement, Obama is not the first president to miss Memorial Day at Arlington. Conservative heroes, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush did not attend regularly. George W. Bush, the son, missed one or two. Actually the only president to attend every year of his presidency was the conservative media’s punching bag, Bill Clinton. How’s that for some fucking irony?

Now I am obviously not an Obama fan, that’s no secret, but when we spend all our time bitching about trivialities like this, we’re just nitpicking and being counterproductive. This really just takes the eye off of the real issues at hand. Issues like Obama’s lack of interest in the Gulf Oil Spill until the press put pressure on him for forty days or the fact that this healthcare monstrosity is taking a steaming dump on the Constitution or the fact that conservatives should be focused on getting their representatives into Congress and the Senate right now. I’m not going to really mention the Sestak thing because that’s another trivial piece of bullshit too many conservatives are trying to dick ride (blog on that one later).

Now don’t get it twisted, I am not calling Memorial Day trivial. I am simply stating that people’s reaction to this ridiculous situation is trivial. This president is not the first to commit this “unpatriotic” act. He still attempted to celebrate the holiday in his own way, even though the ceremony got rained out. So let’s stop looking at every little thing as fodder to destroy the president and let’s start being more objective, PATRIOTIC and choose our battles a bit more wisely. Otherwise, we all just look like busybody dinosaurs on the board of a gated community. Get over it and move on. There’s much larger fish to fry in this country right now.
