Anyone who knows me knows that I am not happy with the current administration in the White House. I actually feel, quite passionately, that this administration is by far the worst in my lifetime. Before the start of this administration, I was more or less, politically apathetic. If you don’t like what I have to say about shit, then blame Obama and his cronies, because they got my attention and now I’m not going to doze off again anytime soon. However, if you don’t like what I have to say, then why the fuck are you reading my blog?
So on to the topic at hand: Barack Hussein Obama, or BHO, just concluded a half hour or so speech to the awesome superheroes that work at NASA. I believe that Reed Richards was in the crowd. Anyway, BHO stated that we could expect to see U.S. manned missions to Mars and asteroids by the mid-2030s. Well, as far as I’m concerned, that’s fucking awesome!
“The bottom line is, nobody is more committed to manned space flight, to human exploration of space, than I am. But we’ve got to do it in a smart way.” – BHO, circa today, about an hour ago
I couldn’t agree more with that statement. However this is Obama we’re talking about here. Now, this isn’t an attack but going by his track record, I cannot help but to be incredibly skeptical about his words. I mean, when has he ever really lived up to his outlandish promises, except when related to forcing his socialist agenda through Congress?
Let’s be honest, BHO isn’t really the most fiscally sound guy we’ve had in the Oval Office. Yet, he is now preaching to NASA that they need to be fiscally conservative? He has a new plan for the Space Program and they’ve “..got to do it different.” Okay, I can agree with that but not from this guy, and I honestly hope that I have egg on my face for doubting him in this instance. Prove me wrong Chuckles, the balls in your court, HOLLA!
It’s just that every time Obama comes up with some way to save money, he just redistributes it from somewhere and fucks something else up. Liberals are historically morons with money and this guy is liberal for a liberal (which makes him a believer in the “f” word ending with an “ism”)
Can a communist socialist country even have a space program?
I sincerely hope I’m dead fucking wrong here and I am really happy about what he said today but don’t for one second expect me or anyone with half a brain cell to be optimistic about it. Time will tell of course, however history tends to repeat itself. I hope this is really good for NASA, even better for America and even better than that for the world.
NASA is one thing I truly support. Space exploration is vital to long-term human survival and if we don’t start moving forward now, it may be too late to move forward tomorrow.
On a side note: I did kind of snicker as BHO made his arrogantly blunt statement about “been there, done that” when dissing then nixing our planned return to the moon. It’s about what’s beyond the moon. Why waste resources on redoing something we did over 40 years ago when we can use that money to fund an even greater mission?
