New Hampshire is Happening

*Written by Rob Rimes.

As I sit here typing this, the New Hampshire primary is officially underway and the people are out voting in what is the first real primary. While the results of those crazy arcane Iowa caucuses left us with results that most of the nation wasn’t too keen on, this next step in the electoral process may reshape the GOP primary elections in a way that many of us might find a bit more satisfactory. It is no secret that Mitt Romney is probably going to win the state but the greatest candidate of our age, Ron Paul, might solidify himself as a candidate that cannot be ignored, if he is able to finish strong in second place.

As of right now, the polls show that Paul can in fact get second and in a very convincing fashion, as his percentage in the polls is double that of his closest competitor. The dark horse of this particular stop on the way to the White House might be Jon Huntsman though.

Huntsman did incredibly well in both of the New Hampshire debates this past weekend and the crowd, several times, was eating out of his hand. Newt Gingrich, who has always been the master debater looked like absolute shit and in all honesty, I think his opponents have found and exposed his weaknesses. The rhetoric of the candidates has now changed to attacks and not pulling any punches and Mr. Gingrich has been left in the dust where he is a man alone whining and bitching to the media that the attacks are bullshit. Unfortunately for Newt, it is a part of the game, especially at this stage, and if he can’t get thicker skin and learn how to hang, his campaign is going to wither and die.

Rick Santorum, the big bag of dicks himself, may have done great in Iowa and he may have raised a shitload of money since then but he isn’t going to go anywhere at this point. His numbers in New Hampshire aren’t impressive and although he may do decent in South Carolina next week, there isn’t a lot of wiggle room left in the upper echelon of candidates. The fact that people are backing this fruitcake is really scary and it shows that there are a lot of zombies who let the media dictate their thoughts. If you are one of these idiots who has been undecided about the race thus far and still think that you might change your mind, you’re an idiot. There is only one candidate that is truly different than the rest and one other that is slightly different. The other four are all chips off of the old establishment block. If you’ve gone from supporting Trump to Bachmann to Perry to Cain to Gingrich to Santorum, you are the type of moronic drone that the mainstream media relies on to shape these elections and grow their agenda. You people are lower than shit and could benefit from therapy and reading.

This isn’t a very long piece I’m writing here. I really just wanted to get out a few thoughts leading into this race before I sit down in front of the television tonight and watch these numbers come in. Shit Romney taking New Hampshire is pretty much a given but if there is any truth and justice left in this country, Ron Paul will take second. As I said, he’s polling double over everyone else that isn’t Romney. If he doesn’t get second, this shit is rigged. It’s time for my friends up there in the Free State Project to do what they set out to do and get Paul’s numbers up there so that the media is forced to deal with Dr. Paul and his crazy followers on a level that they are incredibly uncomfortable with; one can only hope, right?

Anyway, that’s all for now. I’ll be back when the goddamned smoke clears whether I’m pleased with the results or a fucking irate werewolf ready to rip some punkass bitches apart – limb from limb.

Romney Brings Out the Debt Clock(0)

Mitt Romney continued to drive a debt-oriented message here on Wednesday morning, extending his “prairie fire” of debt metaphor with the assistance of a prop. In a nod to the independent voters who pushed the Sunshine State into the Democratic column in 2008, Romney noted that both parties were responsible for pushing the debt to

Crime is down in Louisiana, but the state still holds the ignominious title of “the world’s prison capital.” An exposé by the New Orleans Times-Picayune found that Louisiana incarcerates more people per capita than any other state or country in the world. One out of every 86 adults is behind bars, which is nearly double the U.S.

The following column was originally published in February 2008. “Death tugs at my ear and says, ‘Live, I am coming.’” Were Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. alive today, he might ascribe that line not to death but to nuclear terrorism.
