Fuck Townhall.com – Where’s Ron Paul or Rand Paul? and Trump, Really?!(0)

My Two Cents: Is this a pick the biggest neocon douchenugget competition? End Two Cents.

Navigating Forward in a Sea of Stupidity & Tyranny(1)

*Written by Rob Rimes.

I barely have time to write this essay or whatever you want to officially call it, just as I haven’t had much time to write anything lately. Right now I am trying to finish up a few projects for work while packing and prepping for my long weekend trip to Gainesville. I’m going up there to visit my cousin and his college aged friends – some in school, some not. The booze will be aplenty and the party atmosphere should be monolithic, as that wild college town never fails to disappoint in the realm of pure debauchery and substance-enchanced frenzies. Between the usually free-spirited and good-hearted college kids encompassing downtown and the campus areas to the good ol’ boys on the outskirts of the concentrated action, trouble is something hard for one to avoid when the ante is upped and the whiskey is flowing. The only thing that can stop such fun-filled insanity is one of those damned Sunday nights when you are ill-prepared and find yourself out of alcohol in a county that decides to go dry for twenty-four hours during the Deep South’s weekly church day. Last trip, I found myself and a few of my cousin’s friends driving frantically through the dark North Central Florida wilderness in an effort to cross the county line and find anywhere that might have any sort of alcohol available for purchase. It was also a race against the clock as it was about closing time for most liquor stores in the state. Luckily, the mission was accomplished and we left with some fanciful artistic vanity beers, some PBR and a couple bottles of various 80 proof (or higher) swill.

This is probably what awaits me over the course of the next few days and I do need to get my shit together for the small vacation. However, I couldn’t resist sitting down at my temperamental Apple computer to type up my thoughts on the events of today. Hell, it isn’t even noon yet but the news is full of stories about the Paul Family. It’s a good day to be a Ron and Rand Paul supporter, as things are seemingly looking up in a few different ways.

To start, the Paul Revolution v2.0 is underway! Sure, I am really looking way ahead here but the younger Dr. Paul is doing all the right things and going against the grain so successfully that the media cannot ignore him. He is sticking out like a sore thumb against a backdrop of middle fingers. He isn’t playing the party politics game and isn’t succumbing to the Beltway bullshit while the vast majority of all the other Tea Party darlings have auctioned off their souls. In fact, Rand Paul probably pisses the Tea Party people off as they are really just grassroots establishment stooges at this point in the game. He is the antithesis to their heroes Marco Rubio, Michele Bachmann, Col. Allen West, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and now Mitt Romney. Rand Paul recognizes the tyranny that is running rampant due to the PATRIOT Act and NDAA. He knows that the Department of Homeland Security is an over-inflated branch of the government that assaults our constitutional rights. He doesn’t try to convince himself that he must surrender his principles to fear and embrace the ever-expanding police state. As a senator and a direct victim of the TSA’s special brand of tyranny, he knows all too well how far their big brother fingers reach into the heart of liberty.

Rand Paul has officially made it his mission to end the TSA and to free the heart of liberty from their death grip. Like most Americans, Rand is tired of the harassment and horrible treatment of American citizens at the hands of these tyrannical bottom-feeders. Ultimately, he is sick and tired of the horrendous violations against our constitutional rights. To combat the tyranny, he has come forward with new legislation simply called the ‘END the TSA Bill’. You can actually sign a petition in support of the bill at ChooseLiberty.org.

In a nutshell, this law would forcibly privatize the TSA. What that means is that the government would not be able to put their hands on airport security. By privatizing the TSA, it doesn’t end airport security, it opens up competition from all over to come in and compete for the job. In order for the TSA to survive, it would have to adapt to the will of the people and the business owners (i.e. the airports and airlines) or else it would be swallowed up by a competitor that would. This brings the free market into airport security and therefore allows a company that is willing to find the balance between actually effective security practices and respecting the rights of those who pass through their gates. It is a win/win scenario for the citizens, the airports, the airlines and the company that is able to provide the absolute best service. If this scares you than don’t worry, I’m sure your other war-mongering fear turtle Tea Party darlings will strike it down. Ultimately, that is the real problem here and until we get other men and women in Congress who have the sense of Dr. Paul Sr. and Dr. Paul Jr., championing freedom back into our lives will be futile. However, it’s not all bad as the Paul Family message is growing larger everyday.

The second thing worth mentioning is the fact that even though it is pretty clear that Mitt Romney is going to go head-to-head with Obama in November, Ron Paul is still in this thing – making the GOP side of things very interesting. It is a two-man race between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney as every other candidate in this thing has dropped out to sign book deals and television contracts. The two-man race between Paul and Romney was made official today, as even Fox News couldn’t continue their blackout. Nope, Fox News announced that Ron Paul has officially qualified to be able to be the Republican nominee for president, if they decide to choose him over Romney (they won’t). This pivotal point in the race will take place at the Republican National Convention coming up in a few months in Tampa, FL.

Ron Paul has stayed in through thick and thin and has now met all the requirements for his name to be put up there alongside frontrunner Mitt Romney. I guess his delegate-hunting tactic has worked and paid off. This is great news, not because he has a chance of winning at this point – I firmly believe he doesn’t, but because he will be at the convention – in front of the world and will have the opportunity to spread his message further into the minds of all the Americans preparing for the big race between two big government progressive hyenas laughing at those who believe that there is some sort of difference between the two of them: there isn’t.

This could be Ron Paul’s Reagan moment. Like Ronald Reagan’s speech at the 1964 Republican National Convention, where Barry Goldwater won the nomination, Paul’s speech could unleash a tsunami wave of pro-liberty thinking. Sure, it is too little too late for the elder Dr. Paul, as he is walking away from politics after this election, but his son could be set up to take the reigns from his father and push this message forward with youthful vigor and vigilance for decades to come! One can only hope that generations of Pauls continue to follow the path of Ron and Rand and keep giving us a legacy of liberty that isn’t willing to compromise with the beast to save face and further their careers by sacrificing their principles. This brings me to my next point.

Rand Paul has a serious ball that he can pick up and run with. His father has done a fantastic job of laying the groundwork for the next generation to use to their advantage. Maybe this has been the Paul family agenda all along; who knows? The point is, the foundation has been built and it is pretty fucking strong. Guys like Rand Paul, Justin Amash and Gary Johnson could use this to their advantage and really our advantage as well. I don’t think that this is the year for Gary Johnson but the future could be very bright for him as well as the younger Paul and Congressman Amash. In 2016 or 2020, we could have a real pro-constitutional candidate in the mix who has enough steam and power to bulldoze through the establishment competition. If the momentum of the Paul message continues, the people just may be ready to commit and see this thing through. The numbers could very well be to the advantage of truth and for the first time in a very long time, America could move in the right direction. That is, of course, if the current crop of politicians don’t completely burn DC to the ground.

I know that I have come across as overly pessimistic at times in my writings, especially as of late, but it is hard to not give up hope when the hole you are in is so deep that you can’t even see the surface above you anymore. Maybe everything will crash and burn and at this rate, it is the most likely outcome but even if this does happen, we still need the type of leaders that can get us out of all this. Eventually the damage may be so bad that the only thing we can do is rebuild from the ground up. We will all pay for the crimes committed from those we elected and truthfully, we deserve to pay the price of our own ignorance and blindness. Our complete lack of vigilance and our blind faith in political parties has been our downfall. You can continue to point the finger at Washington DC, the Federal Reserve, Wall Street or whoever else but the truth is, American citizens are the ones who are at fault. The longer we assume that government will take responsibility for our lives and our well-being, the longer we will have to live with our heads in the clouds as shivering weaklings unworthy of walking on the same soil as our Founding Fathers. Until we overcome our own denial we won’t overcome our own self-perpetuating tragedy. The bull is staring coldly into our eyes, right in front of our goddamned faces but we aren’t grabbing the fucking horns! Why?!

This isn’t a dose of pessimism, it’s a dose of realism. With that said, to be real, I feel the need to point out that, in this case, the proverbial “beacon of light that guides freedom-loving people everywhere” could just be Senator Rand Paul. An article I came across on Business Insider’s website this morning talks about Rand’s potential 2016 or 2020 presidential run and how he is already working towards building a solid relationship with many of the key people that can help him reach levels greater than his father. Hell, the Evangelical sect of the voting public is taking to the younger Paul even though historically, they have not been too supportive of his father. Christian TV producer Justin Machacek said it best when comparing Rand to his father:

From my perspective, Rand is certainly more popular. I think he’s from a younger generation and I think he speaks a more modern language. He’s easier to understand, so I think his message is much clearer. Not that it’s a different message from a policy standpoint, but I think his communication style resonates much better.

Things are looking up for the Paul legacy, despite whatever the horrible results of the 2012 election will be, and if the right people are won over before the next election cycle and the message of constitutionalism continues to expand, the future could be bright. Of course, playing devil’s advocate, this is assuming that the Republican Party can actually change or that a third party could actually rise to challenge the two party monopoly. As hopeless as it seems, it’s very much possible if we want it badly enough.

Now grab the fucking horns.

Anybody But Obama!: The Death of the Tea Party(1)

*Written by Rob Rimes.

Anybody but Obama! That has been the mantra shouted out by Republicans and Tea Partiers all over America for quite some time now. The reality pill that no one on the right is willing to swallow that I myself took a double dose of a few years ago is that the two groups are really just one in the same. Sure, the Tea Party talks a big game and I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.. no, I really did. However, this 2012 election cycle on top of their complete lack of real vigilance after their hollow midterm victory in 2010 has just gone on to prove my worst fears about these “non-partisan” big talking “fiscal” conservative hacks.

So as I type this while sitting at the bar in my favorite local Irish pub, I must reflect on the incident that inspired this article. You see, it was just this past Saturday that my local chapter of the Tea Party decided to hold an event in an effort to celebrate Tax Day. By “celebrate”, I mean bitching and moaning about crazy spending and government waste while trying to sound like true fiscal warriors out to chop off the heads of our big government leviathan. Now I didn’t attend this Tea Party and truth be told, I haven’t gone to one in well over a year because I just don’t see the point in trying to parade around with those who are primarily hypocrites and blind to the fact that their actions have a stark contrast to their rhetoric. Honestly, I’d rather spend my afternoon eating ribs and going to a bar to work on my writing in an effort to really bring forth some change in this country or at least give some ammunition to the hundreds of thousands who read my words regularly. I did witness the latest installment of the angry Anti-Obamanoids however and I can’t not share what I saw and my thoughts on it and the whole Tea Party movement in general at this point.

I tried to blow passed them but I couldn’t help but slow down my car and gawk at the ludicrous display, as I rolled by the event on my way to the local barbecue joint. My how the mighty have fallen in just a short short time. The saddest part, and I can only speak about my local chapter, is it looks like the numbers of participants has dwindled from where it was just two years ago. It was kind of sad actually. In what is a pivotal election year, participation at this rally was nowhere near the magnitude of the monstrous rallies that were spread across America leading up to the 2010 midterm elections. It’s like two-thirds of the Tea Partiers were satisfied enough with the Republicans taking back the House of Representatives that this much bigger election doesn’t even matter. This lack of participation has been apparent in the fact that the number of people voting has been down quite consistently across all the primaries from just four years ago when Obama bitchslapped McCain and his Alaskan parrot.

Then again, maybe those two-thirds that seem to be missing are of a much smarter stock and have decided to abandon the hopeless Tea Party crusade as I have. Maybe, just maybe, they see the forest for the trees and understand that this “Anybody but Obama!” mantra is complete and utter bullshit! Yes, Obama is shit as president and this isn’t in any way being written in defense of him but to think that anyone could just walk onto the job and do better is fucking moronic and completely careless. It just goes to show how clueless a lot of these damn dolts are. The fact that the roadside was decorated with Mitt Romney signs further proves my point.

You see, even just a few months ago, these Tea Party people – while screaming, “Anybody but Obama!” – were adamantly opposed to Mitt Romney. These tea-sippin’ geniuses clung onto every other candidate that wasn’t Romney in an effort to get someone to the top of the heap. Then again, for the most part, the vast majority of the Tea Partiers didn’t give Ron Paul a real shot at the top. Everyone else got their day though: Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. Hell, even Jon Huntsman gained some key delegates early in the voting process. However, during this long and arduous game of pass the hot potato, no one gave it to the only guy who actually practices what these hypocritical hobbits preach. Again, as I’ve pointed this out countless times, Dr. Paul gave birth to the Tea Party but the group that exists now is just the Tea Party In Name Only. So I guess “Anybody but Obama!” doesn’t include the only guy who could statistically beat Obama. This is why Republicans continue to fail and why the Tea Party is deader than shit.

These people don’t want a real solution to the things that they bitch and complain about. What they want is for a Republican victory over the Democratic led progressive machine. I guess the fact that the guy that all these anti-Obamanoids are now rallying around is also a progressive doesn’t really seem to matter. You see, these people are the establishment and they are a part of the problem. Their goal is soulless and their aim is bullshit. Now that the smoke is starting to clear, these people are lining up behind Mitt Romney, the guy they all talked shit about for years. The same guy who provided the model for Obamacare in Romneycare. You know, Obamacare – the issue that got these people so up in arms just 24 months ago!

So why do they now support this guy? Because the Tea Party has been co-opted and taken over by sheep and shepherds who don’t understand that they are really just sheep as well. These people, who are typically glued to the O’Reilly Factor and Rush Limbaugh day-to-fucking-day, don’t have the aptitude for politics that they believe they do. They’re malleable idiots being shaped and formed by the pontificating jackturds who speak to them from the other side of a speaker or screen where the words they utter are manufactured by a sinister agenda fueled by corporatist pigs and an unrelenting all-too-powerful two party system. This isn’t conspiracy theorist lunacy, it is facts – plain and simple. To deny it only solidifies your ignorance. To not question everything and educate yourself just shows that you give way too much trust over to people you do not know who only have their own best interests at heart. And this just really goes back to my earlier comment about the Tea Party’s complete lack of real vigilance.

If the Tea Party was as vigilant as they claimed they were and if they stood for the principles plastered across their signs, they’d have already put several of their heroes’ feet to the fire. I don’t have to look much further than my own state of Florida to give examples of Tea Party sweethearts who have proven to be nothing more than progressive neocon establishment bitches. Marco Rubio, a senator from Florida who many Tea Partiers want to run alongside Romney, has been fiscally irresponsible, supported unconstitutional war, tried to limit the freedom of speech, supported pro-police state legislation across the board and committed many other heinous acts that should completely disqualify him from being a Tea Party superstar. Allen West, a Florida congressman, has also voted almost consistently in-line with Rubio while sitting on the House side of Congress. Then there’s Michele Bachmann, who is just a complete mess and a retched dingbat, as well as Herman Cain who proved that giving deals on pizza toppings doesn’t make you knowledgeable enough to become president. The long list of Tea Party politicians that stormed the steps of Congress two years ago have gone on to perpetuate the madness they ran against while still gaining the approval of the intellectually lazy Tea Party majority.

As I drove by the event this past Saturday, I did notice a few young people holding up a giant Ron Paul banner. Those kids get my respect and at least there are a few sane people left in a sea of bad apples. While their valiant effort was dwarfed by the overabundance of Romney propaganda, they did look like the only people there who were actually enjoying themselves. Then again, the ex-soccer moms and their obedient husbands, whose kids are now adults and moved out of the house, did show a wee bit of energy waving their “Anybody but Obama!” signs from the comfort of their overpriced and overly-stylized lawn chairs. They probably don’t want to overexert themselves like the three youngsters with the Ron Paul banner however, as their senior entitlements may soon run dry. Who’s fault is that really?

I understand that there are people, some who I am still friends with, that feel it is necessary to play this Tea Party game. The truth is, it’s a waste of time. The real movement is dead and has been dead for quite awhile. Even if it could magically be brought back to its early glory, it would still be associated with the Tea Party name and just like the words “liberal” and “conservative” before it, the name “Tea Party” has been so bastardized and abused that there is no coming back from the shitty abyss it has sunk to. Fuck these giant corporately co-opted groups. It’s time for people to be self-educated, self-starting, self-thinking individuals again and let the bullshit die. Find your own path and don’t be swayed and if you come across those who share your principles and your beliefs, embrace them. Just stay truly vigilant and don’t let them piss all over the dream and leave it a urine-soaked carcass not even worthy of being kicked around for sport. At least the Occupy Wall Street movement had the sense to tell corporate sponsorship to fuck off. With that, they get more respect from me than the Tea Party, who has continually compromised their principles and values because one really doesn’t have those things when they are just adopted from what some billionaire pundit has dictated to his obedient flock.

If you people were really worried about the state of this country, you’d do something about it. Something real, something that actually mattered! However, that starts with getting off of your asses and doing your own self-educating. And yes, I’m talking to all you people with stacks of books with the names Beck, O’Reilly, Limbaugh, Levin, Savage, Coulter, Ingraham and Hannity scrawled across their spines. Maybe it’s time to trade those in for books with the names Mises, Rothbard, Hazlitt, Hayek, Friedman, Sowell, Rockwell and Paul on them. What’s the worst that could happen? You might actually learn something, gain my respect and be a lot less of a fucking tool.

Assassinating Scientists & Pissing on Terrorists(4)

*Written by Rob Rimes.

I’m not going to sit here and type up some bullshit scare piece about how American society is ripping apart at the seams. However, I am going to point to the fact that the actions of our military and the words of several of our political elite in this country have come off as pretty disgusting the last few days. This has been a weird week full of strange happenings and none of it really paints a positive picture as to where this is all going. Tensions in Iran are at an all-time high and the truth is, we are at war, it just hasn’t been declared yet. I mean, between drone attacks, assassinations and secret sabotage attempts, what else would someone call it? Over in Afghanistan, tensions are also pretty high, if not even higher than they were a few days ago.

You see, two incidents have happened recently that are a bit unsettling. The first incident involves United States Marines pulling their dicks out and pissing on dead Taliban soldiers. Now while I understand that these dead men are pretty much dead dogs and terrorists, it doesn’t excuse this immature and classless act. A lot of people are really upset about this and there are also a good amount who are praising these servicemen for emptying their bladders on these slain bastards. Now while I am not a person who is easily offended by things, I do find this to be disturbing because of the message it sends.

Now I understand that war is hell and outsiders can’t necessarily put themselves in the mind frame of a soldier in the heat of battle but regardless of that, this is still inexcusable. When a man or woman wears that uniform they are representing all of us and to partake in such actions makes our country, as a whole, look like a bunch of assholes. It’s also going to just piss the Taliban off even more, as their dead are being disrespected. Granted, I could care less about showing them any respect but what this incident really does is it disrespects the United States and what it is we are supposed to stand for. This sort of behavior just paints a really clear picture of reality, that we are an evil empire toppling regimes and milking resources all over the globe. It’s obvious that this isn’t about fighting terrorism anymore considering that the guy we went in there to get, we got. Realistically, even though we just snuffed Osama bin Laden last year, it doesn’t mean that we didn’t lose sight of our purpose before that. In all honesty, I think our leaders were completely dishonest about the real reason as to why we went over there to begin with.

As for the soldiers pissing on dead people, I understand that they may have been high on adrenaline and disgusted by the evil fucksacks that they had just killed but if they are incapable of maintaining the behavior and decorum of an American man in uniform, then they need to be dealt with. In this case, they obviously weren’t able to do the right thing and not succumb to their sophomore antics. What these soldiers failed to understand, in the heat of the moment, is that America needs to be the country setting the example across the globe. If we’re going to preach all the things we preach to people, then what are they going to think when they see our military personal pissing all over their fresh kills. Just because the Taliban beheads dead American soldiers and parades them around in the streets, doesn’t make it right for us to disrespect them in a tasteless fashion. Truthfully, if you were to commit an act like this, you shouldn’t take pictures or video for fuck’s sake! On stupidity alone these guys should be court marshaled.

Needless to say, the Pentagon is pissed. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said:

I have seen the footage, and I find the behavior depicted in it utterly deplorable. Those found to have engaged in such conduct will be held accountable to the fullest extent.

Former Marine and U.S. Congressman Michael Grimm said:

This actually hurts me. This is painful. There’s no excuse for this ever happening. They were trained, and they know better, and they disgraced their country.

Former Army lieutenant colonel and U.S. Congressman Allen West said this in a letter to the Weekly Standard:

I have sat back and assessed the incident with the video of our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses. I do not recall any self-righteous indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu. Neither do I recall media outrage and condemnation of our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah.

All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?

The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.

As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.

I agree with West, for a change, but do find myself at odds with his last sentence. The people don’t need to shut their mouth, they need to hold their leaders and their military accountable for their actions, whether he thinks that we can wrap our heads around war or not.

The point of all this is that when you are in the military you take an oath to serve and protect this country. With that oath comes the responsibility of carrying yourself in a certain manner, with a certain attitude and a certain set of principles. These four men who urinated on these dead Taliban soldiers did not carry themselves in such a way and should be punished for their actions. The world already sees us as a giant bully and now we’ve given them more reason to think that. In fact, we’ve probably ignited even more hatred within the hearts of our enemies and the repercussions of that could just be more of our servicemen sent back home in body bags as we continue on this pointless conquest.

All the pundits praising these guys are assholes. Then again, those same pundits want perpetual war in an effort to combat this fictitious “War on Terror”. These pundits are even praising the assassination of Iranian scientists as well, which brings me to my next point.

Just yesterday, an Iranian scientist was assassinated when men on motorcycles put a magnetic bomb on his car and detonated it. Several other people, besides this scientist, were injured in the blast. Now it is suspected that Israel was behind the attack, which means that the United States was involved or most likely knew about it. So, why was the scientist killed? Well, he was working on Iran’s nuclear program. Apparently, just because of that, he deserved to be murdered and the innocent people around him deserved to be maimed.

Now this attack wasn’t the first one like this. A similar assassination happened a few months back and that one took the lives of two people. Of course, the American mainstream media praised the attack and completely ignored the reality of the situation. With this latest attack, the mainstream media followed the exact same formula and condoned this action as well.

In fact, Sean Hannity on his radio show, just after the attacks, said:

Whoever is involved in the killing of these Iranian nuclear scientists, God bless them.. ..I wish we were involved.

You can hear him for yourself at this link.

So not only is Hannity condoning murder, he is condoning terrorism, YES terrorism. I guess where Mr. Hannity sits it is only terrorism when it is someone else doing it to us. How would he react if the roles were reversed and Iranians killed either Israeli or American scientists, not to mention innocent bystanders? Hannity and every mainstream shitcock like him would be outraged and calling for war! Hell, we’d hear about how the dead scientists were just patriots doing their duty for their country and now their children have to grow up without their mom or dad. When you flip the fucking coin, this bullshit is absolutely transparent and it is sickening! To steal an old overused cliché adage: what has America become?

I can’t just point the gun of reason at Sean Hannity, I’ve also got to point it at my favorite punching bag, the big bag of dicks himself.. Rick Santourm! Of course this piece of crap asshole had to open his mouth in regards to all this. Here’s what the bastard said:

On occasion, scientists working on the nuclear program in Iran turn up dead. I think that’s a wonderful thing, candidly. I think we should send a very clear message that if you are a scientist from Russia, North Korea, or from Iran and you are going to work on a nuclear program to develop a bomb for Iran, you are not safe. And people say ‘well, you can’t go out and assassinate people.’ Well tell that to al-Awlaki. Okay, we’ve done it. We’ve done it to an American citizen, so we can certainly do it to someone who is producing a nuclear bomb that can be dropped in the state of Israel or provides a nuclear shield for a country which spreads terrorism with impunity and changes the face of the world.

Hey, here’s the video!

God, I hate this guy. Santorum is so quick to fight abortion yet so quick to murder anyone he can paint as a fucking boogeyman and he does it while carrying the cross. This sanctimonious fucksack is the worst kind of evil and the fact that people would vote for this guy just blows my goddamned mind! The fact that the people in the room when he said this didn’t throw the closest objects they had next to themselves at Santorum’s head is a fucking travesty. Guys like Santorum, with comments like that, are just terrorists themselves. Rick Santorum will never let the crusades end, he won’t stop until he drowns in the blood of Islam as he is blinded by faith in a God he thinks he understands. The difference between Rick Santorum and the crusaders of the past is that Mr. Santorum is a fucking coward. He would never fight this perceived evil himself, he’d rather just send countless kids over there to die for his archaic vision and just like Sean Hannity, he would condone all acts of terrorism by our guys and our allies because we are on the right side of this bullshit holy war.

So while condoning all these evil deeds, these guys keep trying to sell us on the idea that Iran is either building a bomb or already has one. Funny, considering Leon Panetta was caught on tape admitting that Iran has no immediate plan for nuclear weapons. That came directly from the mouth of our Defense Secretary yet these establishment conservative cockpuppets continue to ignore facts and preach insanity. These are the same vile dickbags that are high-fiving each other over soldiers pissing on terrorists, even if they don’t publicly support that action. The fact is, we’re a nation lead by and preached to by cowards who would never pick up arms themselves. Fuck these cockroaches.

To be frank, America’s behavior is becoming deplorable in the realm of the military, politics and the media. At least there are us sane people that can see through this sort of bullshit and not succumb to its influence. Then again, guys like O’Reilly and Hannity have consistently high ratings and the attendance at patriotic organizations like Tea Party events has been overtaken by Fox News drones and Newt Gingrich supporters instead of real constitutional conservatives and libertarians who are willing to look passed party politics and promote liberty. I guess I have to wait for that third group to emerge that bridges the gap between the Tea Party and the Occupy Movement and is strictly made up of the best from both groups not the joiners and sycophants. I don’t think this country can wait on that however.

Now I know that this is probably coming off as negative but I do think that there are enough of us that see the forest for the trees. In fact, I know that our numbers grow by the day and even if we have to ride out this storm awhile longer, we are still going to come to a point where enough is enough and the sort of actions and rhetoric that taint the image of our unique society will no longer be effective. The mainstream media and the horrible politicians and the bully military will no longer have a hold on the free minds of the public and they will lose their power. “Live free or die” used to mean something and even if it seems like some overused throwaway slogan from a few hundred years ago, the truth in those words will mean something incredibly significant again.

The Self-Destruction of the Republican Party(2)

*Written by Rob Rimes.

I’m sitting in my room with the Depeche Mode music video anthology in the DVD player blaring through my television speakers. After a week of not drinking, as I’m taking a break after my two week birthday and holiday binge, I find it almost necessary to pour myself a bourbon and light up a cigar in an effort to center my thoughts. But as the music blares and my mind races, I feel the need to just get right into this and just crank it out. Trust me, there are more productive ways I could be spending my Friday night. Last week, I drank eight shots of Kentucky Gentleman on the beach, which were chased with three or four rather large tropical drinks, a few other shots, a couple of beers and half a bottle of Old Crow. My friends and I are pretty sure we saw a UFO over the Gulf of Mexico. Anyway, maybe I can get into all that again once I type up these thoughts. I should probably stop procrastinating through words and get to the point of this piece. So here we go..

There are several reasons why I am not a Republican and can’t really ever see myself as being one. Technically my voter registration card has an “REP” on it but that is only there for about another month. Once the Republican primary for president is over, it is going back to “IND”. You see, I always used to be of the belief that I could be involved with the party and like some of the great organizations within it, such as the Republican Liberty Caucus or RLC, I thought I could somehow work within it to change it and shape it so that it went back to resembling what it once was. I thought that in time and through the hard work of several people, the Republican Party could return to being fiscally responsible and pro-Constitution. Over the last year or so, I have come to the realization that this just isn’t possible.

When the Tea Party came along, everything changed. The rhetoric was different and not just Republicans but people from all different walks of life with varying ideologies banned together because they were tired of the careless spending in Washington and extremely sick of being taxed to death. I never really considered myself a Tea Partier but I did have a lot in common with them and frequented several events. The reasons I attended were to experience the movement and to talk with the people there. Another reason why I went was because the energy was incredible and everyone seemed to truly be in unison. It’s as if people were waking up to a lot of the tyranny and finally banding together to vote the bastards out and put a stop to it all.

Realizing that the Tea Party was pretty much a movement stolen from Ron Paul supporters, who were having their own Tea Parties in 2007, I should have realized what was going to happen. Suddenly, Sarah Palin showed up and the Tea Party people welcomed this big government “mama grizzly” with open arms. Hell, it’s like the Tea Party was a pageant and she was immediately awarded the crown. Then people like Michele Bachmann came along and sunk their talons in. The Tea Party then got in the business of backing candidates because the 2010 midterm elections were on the horizon and guys like Marco Rubio and Allen West seemed like real fiscal conservatives that were going to change things on a real level. This is when I started to see that the Tea Party had been hijacked by the Republican Party and I didn’t like where things were going. Unlike Occupy Wall Street, who successfully kept themselves separate from party politics, the Tea Party was co-opted and turned into the greatest grassroots force the GOP has probably ever had.

Going into the 2010 midterm elections, it wasn’t a big surprise that the Republicans were going to win a shitload of elections and take the House of Representatives back. They did, people cheered, everything felt kind of good at the moment and those of us who are conservative or libertarian had a lot of hope for what was seemingly on the horizon. Believe me though, I was ready and willing to put every one of those Tea party candidates on blast if they faltered. As time passed and most of these candidates didn’t live up to the hype and the promises they made, I wrote about it.

I went after Marco Rubio, Allen West and others and in doing so, it really started to sink in that all the Tea Party really was was a vehicle to get Republicans back in power. As I looked around at those in the fight beside me, I noticed that none of them were paying attention anymore. The passion was dead. Sure, there were still a few solid groups thriving and meeting monthly, if not weekly, but overall participation in the Tea Party and other pro-Constitution groups after the 2010 midterm elections dropped off significantly. I understand that there were no elections in 2011 but the mission was far from accomplished. In fact, it had really just begun.

The truth is, once they got their guys in, they stopped caring. When most of these Tea Party candidates went to Washington and either did nothing or went in the wrong direction, the Tea Party wasn’t there to check their asses. Marco Rubio turned into a big piece of shit, all of which I discussed in Tea Flavored Kool-Aid, Part II: The Fall of Marco Rubio and most of the other big names immediately started supporting very bad legislation. The only two Tea Party people that have kept their promise and continue to operate on a policy that encompasses fiscal responsibility and the Constitution is Senator Rand Paul and Congressman Justin Amash. Hell, look at how many of these Tea Party darlings just voted for the insanely tyrannical NDAA law!

We should all be pissed off because the Tea Party was a force that was going to change things, especially the Republican Party. However, it only served the purpose of changing the rhetoric of the party to appease those who were dissatisfied with its direction. In the end, the rhetoric may have changed but overall the action remains the same. I guess a lot of these Tea Partiers were full of hot air and just wanted to bitch. Maybe it was all a ruse and the real objective was to be hijacked by the GOP and to get their boys back in office. Either way, it is incredibly disheartening to those of us who truly believe in the message and who strive, every-fucking-day, to make sure that Liberty’s torch will still be burning for future generations.

Getting passed all the midterm bullshit, let’s look at right now. Let’s look at the 2012 Republican primaries and see how far this resurgence in real conservatism has gotten us. Apart from Ron Paul, a true constitutional conservative, the frontrunners are Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich! These guys are huge big government guys that are the furthest thing away from Tea Party candidates that one can get without labeling them liberals. Wait, many people do label them liberals and truth be told, these neo-conservative RINOs are really just progressives of the right. So how the hell did this happen?

How is Ron Paul, the guy that inspired the real Tea Party back in 2007, not blowing these statist shitcocks out of the fucking water in this race? How is this even a competition? I guess all the passed around literature and pro-constitution rhetoric of 2010 is just being completely ignored now. I guess the Republican Party has recovered from their 2008 John McCain hangover and just like any alcoholic, is back at the bar ready to drown in the same goddamned devil rum that got them hooked to their trickster demons in the first fucking place. It’s a pretty pathetic display but it just goes to show us all what is truly at the core of the Republican Party.

I’ve met too many young people in my travels that feel exactly the same way that I do. I, like several of them, have been involved with the Libertarian Party. As much as that party is a pretty close match to my political ideology, I am just so burnt out on political parties. Maybe it is because third parties never get a fair shake, as we are all forced to participate in this two party system where both parties aren’t that far apart anymore. Both are big government bullies that have monopolized the political landscape and do whatever it is they can to maintain their power and the illusion that we actually have a choice between the two of them. Trust me, it’s hard as fuck to stay motivated when you’re up against this giant rabid two-headed sasquatch creature.

I wish I had some real answers on how to combat this but I don’t and that’s the toughest part. How can we continued to battle it out with the old guard? How can we continued to stay motivated against a cheating leviathan that holds all the cards and picks who gets dealt what? I think the closest thing to an answer that I can give is that we just have to keep fighting, we have to stay aware and be vigilant and truly understand the system and what is going on around us. We have to call the mainstream media and the lying bastards in office out on their bullshit. Fuck, more of us need to write! Not to sound like a fucking commie zombie but through each other we can find Liberty’s torch still burning. The system and the political process have failed. All the warnings from history have been ignored and we are more or less stuck in this overly complicated mess. It’s time to move forward regardless of the barriers and to never stop, take a step back or move to the side. I think one thing we can do is to really know these candidates, not just through their words, but through their records and their history. We need to know who we are voting for and we then need to hold them accountable. We can’t win if we take our fucking eyes off of the ball once our guy gets in office.

However, considering that so many people who I thought were of the same mind and spirit as myself have now fallen off, maybe I’m just wasting my time writing this. Maybe my words will fall on deaf souls and we’re all fucked. Truth is, it’s not just up to me to make a difference and even if this inspires someone else to get fired up that probably still isn’t enough. I don’t want to sound pessimistic but there is a lot of work ahead and a handful of people can’t do it themselves.

Tea Flavored Kool-Aid, Part III: The Allen West HangoverComments Off

*Written by Rob Rimes.

1. Introduction:

Lucky for me, Colonel Allen West does not represent my district. I’m lucky enough to be within the boundaries of one of the very few GOP congressmen who is pretty much awesome. My congressman is Connie Mack, a guy who is actually trying to develop an effective plan to cut spending and get us out of this fiscal insanity (look up and read about his ‘Penny Plan’). Without getting off topic, this article isn’t about how dope my rep has been, it is a critique of the rep that borders my district. A rep that represents the core values and ideals of the Tea Party.. or so we thought.

Allen West is a Florida guy just like Marco Rubio, the last Tea Party hypocrite I wrote about in this ongoing series (here). Col. West is another one of the infamous Tea Party candidates that won an important election and now holds office. Obviously he is not living up to the hype of the Tea Party platform because I am writing about him. I did put him on blast already with the first installment of this series (here) but that obviously just scratched the surface and he’s done a few more questionable things since then in his short time as a congressman.

In my first article, I covered his support of the PATRIOT Act. Unfortunately for us, his non-Tea Party tendencies don’t end there. You see, Col. West is nothing more than an establishment cock who duped the voters into backing him. Apparently, just like with all these other two-faced fraudulent Tea Party fucksacks, West doesn’t understand that the public is paying attention like never before and there will be a time when the office he holds will be up for grabs again. He’s got time to turn this shit around but as far as I am concerned, this fucking turkey needs a serious chin check from his constituents.

2. The Issue of the Debt Ceiling:

When it comes to the issue of the debt ceiling, Allen West let us all down. Granted, most Republicans voted for the Boehner deal but as it was proven by the Cato Institute and many other sources for economic awesomeness the plan was complete bullshit. In fact, it was as useless as a rabbit without a dick. What the debt deal doesn’t do is it doesn’t cut spending, it doesn’t fix the deficit and in the long run it just gives the Beltway Suits more power to waste more of our hard-earned money. West obviously didn’t do his homework or he just went with the majority of the establishment and took the safer road.

Ron Paul, Michele Bachman, Justin Amash and my congressman Connie Mack all voted the right way, as did a dozen or more other Republicans. By aligning himself with the “politics as usual” crowd, West may have bought us some time but ultimately he just contributed to digging the hole a lot deeper. Eventually we will all have to face the music. But really, isn’t this what the Tea Party was trying to prevent? Isn’t the main purpose of the Tea Party to cut spending, balance the budget and get things to a place where they are fiscally stable? Well, if Allen West truly represents the Tea Party, I would have to say “no”.

Now I am perfectly aware that there are groups out there that are trying to push West into challenging Senator Bill Nelson for his seat and there are even some who are pushing for him to run for president in 2012 but c’mon people! This is just crazy as the guy has barely had a queef of a political career. These are like the “Rubio for President” people, they just don’t get it and they obviously don’t pay attention to a goddamned thing. Those people are the cancer that plagues the Republican Party and they are why it can’t move forward and change even with the Tea Party injection.

However, there are a lot of people who aren’t standing for this madness. In fact, one of the major Tea Party groups called out Col. Allen West and all the other “Tea Party” candidates that stood beside Boehner during this economic shit show. So how does West respond to being put on blast by the Tea party? Well, here’s something he said about it on the Laura Ingraham Show:

I think what we have to ask ourselves is, If you’re telling me that I need to vote ‘no’ against the Boehner plan, then what am I voting for? I’m going to stand with this Boehner plan and, once again, if the folks who one minute they’re saying that I’m their ‘Tea Party hero’ and what, three or four days later ‘I’m a Tea Party defector’ — that kind of schizophrenia I’m not going to get involved in.

That’s a pretty shitty statement as far as I am concerned. The Tea Party isn’t being schizophrenic on the issue, Col. West is being schizophrenic on what he supposedly represented before he was voted into office. I guess it’s easier to throw the shit right back and deflect it than to really explain yourself and to try and stand with those who put you in power, regardless of the challenging road ahead. But whatever, I’m sure he sleeps just fine at night.

3. The Issue of the Runaway Runway:

The debt ceiling issue isn’t the only area where Col. Allen West strays away from a Tea Party platform. Another issue that people need to be made aware of is that he is a big fan of pork, especially when it is a hearty helping of pork just for him! Massive feasts on pork should not be in any principled Tea Partiers diet but Allen West doesn’t seem to care. He’s like one of those people that says that they are vegetarian but they still eat chicken and fish. You’re not vegetarian people, just say you don’t eat beef and pork just like West should say that he is fiscally responsible except when it comes to a big ass plate of greasy fat bacon just for him!

You see, Allen West, who expresses that we have to stop all this spending and then points to all these other wasteful programs and projects, has just gotten $21 million dollars from the federal government to build a new runway at the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport! West himself said:

This runway is long awaited and much anticipated. At this crucial time for our economy, it is imperative that we encourage this kind of development, which will bring thousands of jobs with it and boost tourism – South Florida’s number one economic engine.

M’kay.. that sounds like something a big government puppet would say from either party. If he truly represented the Tea Party he wouldn’t have taken the money. Instead, he would’ve understood that government meddling and involvement in such matters stifles capitalism and economic freedom. In the end, we all lose in this sort of scenario. However, because it is HIS project, he can justify such actions. He can try and explain it away as a job creator and a way to boost the Florida economy but at the end of the day he employed a big government solution to a practical problem that an unregulated free market could’ve straightened out real quick.

I guess it is too much to assume that this Tea Party monster hasn’t watched Milton Friedman’s ‘Free To Choose’ or read Ludwig von Mises, F.A. Hayek, Murray Rothbard, Henry Hazlitt or any of the other economic greats. Maybe instead of just taking these Tea Party candidates at their word when they express the rhetoric, the Tea Party members should hold them to a higher standard and check their credentials. Just a thought.

4. The Issues of Everything Else:

Now I don’t want to just bash Allen West here; I am barely being as harsh as I’ve been known to be with others. I did write about his support of the PATRIOT Act in the first part of this series of articles. I’ve also written about how it is a monstrous law that strips away our freedoms, costs us a shitload of money via taxation and is downright evil and tyrannical unlike anything else the American people have been forced to live with by their elected officials (except maybe Lincoln’s insane ego-driven power grabs). The reason I am revisiting it is because Col. Allen West voted against it recently. He spoke out about how he really studied it, looked into it and decided that he could no longer support it. That’s pretty awesome coming from an ex-military leader. For that, my hat goes off to him because there are still far too many politicians on the right and the left that are supporting this abhorrent violation of our constitutional rights. This also allows me to have some hope. Hope that as he moves on in his career he will learn from his mistakes, analyze the facts more carefully and reassess some of his decisions. Well, one can only hope. So far the outlook is still grim.

As far as his voting record goes, I wasn’t crazy with the fact that he voted for H.R. 2715 which “..provides the Consumer Product Safety Commission with greater authority and discretion in enforcing the consumer product safety laws, and for other purposes.” Again, dude needs to learn what Friedman, Rothbard and others have to say on the subject. Also, what’s with the “other purposes” part? That’s pretty goddamned vague isn’t it? This is nothing more than a bill that gives increased power to a government agency and power that isn’t even clearly defined for that matter. Do we need a product safety commission? I’m not against the idea but I am against the government handling it. The private sector is more capable of handling these things but big government stooges would rather you think differently and apparently this Tea Party “smaller government – less spending” freshman does. If only there were a way to quantify the fiscal waste here.

Another major thing that Allen West did, that is seemingly under the radar, is that he broke away from the GOP on their strategy to pull apart Obamacare. Essentially, West claims that it is pointless to fight the health care leviathan as he already voted to repeal it and the Democrat-led Senate immediately thwarted the efforts of the House Republicans. So instead of voting against Obamacare again and again, he has given up and accepted defeat essentially. I mean, the methods the House is using to combat this thing might not be the best per se but at least they aren’t easing up on it and their message is clear. Tea Partiers as well want this parasitic legislation defeated. It must not be that important to Col. Allen West or maybe the fact that he has two applicants for federally-funded school-based health centers in his district has him walking on eggshells. Point is, I understand that he feels that his votes are wasted. However, the choice is simple, you either check the ‘yes’ box or you check the ‘no’ box. There is a right decision and there is a wrong decision. To just check the ‘no’ box takes the same amount of energy and effort as checking the ‘yes’ box. The message he needs to send is to his constituents not his party. If he, as their leader, gives up on it, then what’s the point of him even being there. At this early into his career he’s pretty much turned his back on one of the key Tea Party issues. This may note bode well for his future plans.

5. Conclusion:

Allen West is still new, he’s still working through the kinks but as I have said in previous articles, we don’t have time for him to figure this all out. We need leaders who have a clear cut agenda and who stick to it. Guys like Ron Paul who have always voted the same way and who have been completely transparent and unfaltering in their decisions are the kind of leaders we need. Sadly, Ron Pauls are very far and few between. However, Dr. Paul’s son Rand Paul is also a freshman Tea Party candidate and he has spoken loud, made an impact and hasn’t backed down from the platforms and ideals he represented in his campaign. At this point, he is the measuring stick for all other Tea Party freshman. Maybe that’s not fair but is it really that hard to just go to Washington and do what you said you were going to do? It’s not for Rand Paul but apparently it is for guys like Allen West and Marco Rubio. So if they can’t handle it, maybe someone else needs to do the job?

I wish we had time for these guys to figure out their shit but we don’t. The problem is that most of these Tea Party Republicans were just pandering to the movement to get elected. Now that they are in they know that it is hard to remove an incumbent. Maybe these guys are banking on the possibility that the Tea Party was just a fad and that by the time the next election rolls around, they’ll be free and clear to just coast on through their career without any real GOP primary challengers to give them a run for their money. I really hope not.

Allen West Vs. RealityComments Off

Florida GOP Statists, and those of you who follow them, you know who you are.  You voted for Allen West, and listen to Rush, put down the glass and don’t drink the Kool-Aid. To paraphrase a well know talk show host, for those of you from Fort Lauderdale, when somebody referrers to Drinking the Kool-Aid, that means to become an unquestioning believer in some ideology, or to accept an argument or philosophy wholeheartedly or blindly without critical examination. This is the only explanation for the continued support of Allen West.

West voted for the “super congress” and raising the debt ceiling. Both positions are clearly statist positions and not constitutionally supported. If you support West and these decisions you are clearly not on the side of liberty and freedom and clearly not on the same side as we are. If you believe that our Republic is in jeopardy, that liberty and freedom are valuable, then your continued support for West puts you at odds with the foundations of the USA, the Libertarian Party, and even what the GOP says it stands for. Support for West is a clear indicator that all you care about is making sure the GOP is in charge when they destroy this country.

The Death of Leadership(1)

*Written by Rob Rimes.

Here we are, we’re right at the deadline of August 2nd for all this debt debate bullshit and still there hasn’t been any compromise. The reality of the situation is that our elected leaders have failed us: immensely. It’s not about who is right or wrong between Democrats and Republicans, it is about the fact that we shouldn’t even be in this fucking mess. I could point fingers all day but right now, I’m just pointing one big fat finger at Washington, D.C.

Barack Obama has proven once again, surprise surprise, that he is not a leader and that he has no clue what the hell he is doing. To all you progressive and socialist cockturds whining about that, go eat a dick. John Boehner is a failure as the leader of the House of Representatives. Harry Reid is just an ass clown, which has been his modus operandi since he was old enough to make his own booger wall. Nancy Pelosi is still parading around like Skeletor gone batshit crazy from smoking duck feathers. Plus, Mitch McConnell still scares everyone. In retrospect, none of them have a real plan and nothing that any of them have proposed ends the Beltway Suits’ spending bonanza. Hell, the GOP’s solution for balancing the budget creates even more spending (read it for yourself here).

Washington is playing its typical game of doublespeak and doublethink. They are all full of shit and the only ones with practical solutions aren’t in a position to do anything about it. I’m of course referring to the father and son duo with the surname Paul. There are many Tea Party candidates who do get it as well but the GOP leadership is completely oblivious to the cold hard reality that the sane people are trying to implement. This has only solidified my worst fears about the Republicans taking back the House. At the end of the day, the two parties are just one huge big government party that just happens to have two wings.

All the conservatives, and even some libertarians out there, wanted to give the Republicans one more shot. Well, one more shot is just more of the same ol’ bullshit and if you cannot see the forest for the trees at this point, you need to check your ass. While weasily fucksacks like John McCain throw hateful insults at the Tea Party contingent, that sort of neoconnish establishment RINO bullshit is why the Republican Party is at war with itself. Where the Democrats primarily stay unified through thick and then, certain Republicans who would serve the other party better are creating rifts on their own side of the coin.

There are those who want to be in D.C. for the right fucking reasons, albeit very few. Then there are those that know nothing else apart from trying to hold onto their jobs, their benefits and their status as American royalty. The John McCains and John Boehners out there are not working to fix the problem, they are only working on short-term solutions that will eventually cause more long-term chaos. Fuck all that noise.

Now don’t get my words twisted here, I am not pimping out the Tea Party as our saviors but at least a big number of them understand what must be done. I am of course excluding the wolves in sheep’s clothing from my own state: Senator Marco Rubio and Congressman Allen West (among others). The Tea Party’s problem is that they have been absorbed by the Republican Party and most of them are done fighting the fight. Most of them were just in it to spark the midterm Republican revolution of 2010. Hell, where I sit, the “extreme” Tea Party just isn’t extreme enough. Adopting Palin, Bachmann, Cain and all these other “fiscal” conservatives that are a part of the Republican Party isn’t going to solve anything. The only Republicans worth their weight in gold at the moment are Ron Paul, Rand Paul and Justin Amash. Truthfully, I wish they’d jump off the sinking ship and align their awesomeness with another party because the one they’re a part of doesn’t represent their views anymore.

No matter what happens between now and the few days left before the deadline doesn’t even really matter long-term. It will be no time before we are in this same boat again dealing with this exact same issue. Even if we had a Republican president, we would still be stuck with this Washington culture of spending. Bush fucked us in the ass hard and guys like McCain would’ve fucked us even harder. Hell, Romney, Gingrich, Perry, Pawlenty, Santorum and all the establishment shitcocks would operate with the same blueprints, it is in their blood. I don’t see Palin or Bachmann being able to move away from these bad habits either. Herman Cain could possibly go in the right direction but he is unproven and who knows how he would react under the pressure. Personally, I like the guy and believe he’d do better than most but at the end of the day, a lot of his policies and ideas aren’t in line with true fiscal responsibility.

Out of the presidential candidates, Ron Paul and Gary Johnson are the best choices to give us the leadership we need. I’d pick Paul over Johnson but I would take either over anyone else you could ever put on the ballot.

The real problem is the two party system. This system has created these issues and until a real viable third party arises, we will be playing this game forever. There are no grey areas in politics anymore; it’s either black or it’s white. Unfortunately, it has become a two party system by design and the parties that are more in line with what we need, such as the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party, just can’t get the recognition they need on a national level. Someone like Ron Paul walking away from the madness and infighting of the failing GOP could help the movement towards a new political dawn in this country, especially with the attention he is getting this election cycle.

I understand those who say they are still Republicans because it is the party that most closely resembles and represents what they believe. Well, on a personal level, I’ve gotten to the point where I just can’t accept that anymore. Why settle on the better of two evils? Why not back the party that truly encompasses your ideals? Believing that the Republican Party is going to somehow revert back to Goldwater, or even Reagan, era policy is foolhardy. It just isn’t going to happen. If the results of the 2010 midterm elections didn’t spell it out for you, apparently nothing will. Fuck all this “benefit of the doubt” bullshit. We’re obviously well out of time for that.

These debt talks are disgusting to watch. I’m sick of the television pundits and bloggers trying to justify either side of the battle: fuck’m all. All our leaders are doing is pointing fingers at each other in an attempt to size up their dicks and stroke their own feces-covered egos. I say that we should just let this motherfucker go into default, impeach all these bastards and then sue them for damages. However, we don’t live in a perfect world, the debt issue is proof of that, and none of these assholes will accept any sort of accountability anyway. It is always the other guy; it is always us versus them. Well, right now it is US, the American people, against these fucktard douchenuts who can’t even balance a goddamned budget between hundreds of people.

You know what, do what you like. Just don’t come bitching when your party can’t get their shit together. I’m tired of Republicans claiming they’ve got the right message when they can’t even find their own identity as a party. This is why I am not a Republican because fuck man, I don’t know what the hell they even are anymore. Republicans are fucking confusing! They’re either libertarians pretending they’re conservatives, conservatives pretending they’re libertarians or they’re minions of Fox News wearing whatever hat best fits their Party’s agenda that week. I’m none of those things, so I just don’t fit in that mix. I’ve got no personal beef with y’all but don’t expect me to play along when we’re talking on the issues. And if you’re one of those idiots backing Trump, you can drown in a barrel of hippo cum for all I care.

At the end of the day, we need fucking leadership and we aren’t going to get it from a party that can’t even organize its thoughts. The end is nigh my friends and you’re either on the sinking GOP ship or you’re sucking the socialist cock of the Democratic Party. But wait! There are other choices! It’s just time to promote and back those choices and to get off of the one way train to Hell. As the old dude said at the end of ‘The Last Crusade’ when Indiana Jones was searching for the Holy Grail, “You must choose.. but choose wisely.”

Allen West Does Something Rational: Votes “No” on PATRIOT ActComments Off

*Taken from Broward Palm Beach.

When Rep. Allen West said in his weekly newsletter that he was going to make a “careful assessment” on the Patriot Act extensions, it sounded like we could already pencil him in for a “yes” vote — especially since he just recently voted for the 90-day extension.

It appears he was actually being serious about considering a vote against it.

West joined only 30 other House Republicans in voting “no” on extending three provisions in the Patriot Act — the government’s expanded wiretap capabilities, ability to obtain records, and the “we’re kinda sure you’re a terrorist” ”lone wolf” targeting.

Here’s what West had to say last night after the vote:

“I have spent the past two months investigating these provisions to the PATRIOT Act, their effect on American citizens and their impact on apprehending terrorists to better keep our country safe. After much reading, many briefings, and conversations with local law enforcement and federal agents, including FBI Director Robert Mueller, I am not fully convinced that by extending these provisions for four years, we would be any safer, but instead I fear they may only give us the illusion of being safer.”

Mueller had sent members of Congress a letter explaining how the Patriot Act ensured safety in the U.S., while West wrote him back with some questions:

  • Can you provide a breakdown of how many times these provisions have been used on citizens and non-citizens?
  • How many people were ever convicted or investigated?
  • Out of those held, how many were released without being charged?
  • Are there any individuals that are still being held that were never charged?
  • What intelligence, if anything, came from these instances in which Section 206 was implemented?

Mueller didn’t write back.

The four-year extension of the provisions passed 250-153 and was signed by President Barack Obama just before midnight…
