This is a screenshot from French clothing retailer La Redoute’s website advertising kid’s t-shirts. Aaaaaaaaaand they used a product shot with a dude’s wiener in it. I even found a closeup HERE because I know you’re a pervert!

The image, which appeared for several hours on its website today, showed a group of four children running on the sand.
But, in the background, a naked man can clearly be seen wading behind them up the sea-shore.

Web users spotted the ‘faux pas’, which has since been taken down, and immediately took to Twitter to poke fun at the clothing company.

Admittedly, I don’t really think it’s that big a deal. I mean, Europeans are WAY COOLER with nakedness than we are here in the United States of Embarrassment. Especially France. I just assumed naked wieners were a fact of life over there. “You’re going to vacation there, aren’t you?” I dunno, what’s my ticket say? “One-way.” *wink*

GTL…but no A and F!

Abercrombie and Fitch has a bad, bad Situation on its hands.

The clothing company (famous for its ads of nearly naked hunks) is worried that Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has been wearing its wares out and about. So worried, in fact, that they’re willing to pay Sorrentino, 29 — plus his Jersey Shore castmates — a “substantial” amount of cash to cease and desist rocking A and F gear in public.

“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image,” the company said in a press release Tuesday (viaCNN).

Dressing for work used to be simple. Men typically donned a full suit and there were rules to dressing that were passed on from father to son.  These dressing guidelines were reinforced by society and informative publications that educated men on dressing well.

Then things began to change–hats disappeared, jackets were left at home, and men’s magazines started focusing on fleeting fashion and designer clothing. Casual Fridays turned into casual weeks and somewhere along the way men forgot how to dress properly.

Let me be clear: You do not have to wear a three-piece suit to look great and conduct business; in fact, if you worked at a company like Patagonia or Google, this type of clothing could work against you.  And really no particular set of clothing does justice to what it truly means to dress sharp. Dressing sharp goes beyond any article of clothing. Dressing sharp is about taking pride in what you wear and controlling what your image says to those with whom you’ve never spoken.

Light, pleated khakis a size too big paired with a baggy dress or polo shirt…walk into any office today and you’ll see men dressed in this new uniform of business casual. But what you wear to the office doesn’t have to be boring, frumpy, and Dilbert-esque.
