NKorea Seen Restarting Work on Nuclear Reactor(0) North Korea has restarted construction on a nuclear reactor that is an essential component in building nuclear weapons, according to a U.S. university monitoring project. Commercial satellite imagery from April 30 shows that the Pyongyang government is close to completing a containment building for a new experimental light water reactor, according to a website maintained by Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies based in Washington. The reactor, for possible completion by 2014-2015, would be able to supply needed electricity as well as fissile material for a nuclear weapon, the report says. It quoted a former deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Olli Heinonen, as saying that once the reactor is operational, it would be capable of producing enough plutonium to add “a little more than one bomb per year” to North Korea’s nuclear weapons stockpile. U.S.-led talks to curb North Korea’s nuclear program fell apart last month. The U.S. and South Korea have expressed concern that the North, under new leader Kim Jong Un, is preparing to test a nuclear explosive device soon. North Korea issued several threats last month with officials talking of “powerful modern weapons” and threatening to reduce South Korea to “ashes” in minutes. CONTINUED at Bloomberg. |

Biden Defends Iran Stance: ‘We were the problem’(0) Vice President Joe Biden spoke out forcefully against the Iranian government Tuesday at the Rabbinical Assembly Convention meeting, saying actions taken by the Obama White House were preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. But the Romney campaign was quick to disagree. Military assistance, coupled with financial and oil sanctions passed by the U.S. and the European Union, would cripple the Iranian economy, Biden promised. “When we took office, let me remind you, there was virtually no international pressure on Iran. We were the problem,” Biden said. “We were diplomatically isolated in the world, in the region, in Europe.” Biden continued, “We were neither fully respected by our friends nor feared by our opponents. Today is it starkly, starkly different.” The other side of the aisle struck back at Biden’s comments, with GOP presidential candidate and presumptive nominee Mitt Romney’s Policy Director Lanhee Chen calling foul on the placement of blame, and stating the vice president’s words were “wrong and completely inappropriate.” CONTINUED at CNN. Israeli Military Chief: Iran not pursuing nuclear weapon(0) Israel’s military chief toned down the rhetoric over Iran’s nuclear programme on Wednesday, describing the Iranian leadership as “very rational” and unlikely to take the decision to build a bomb. Speaking to the left-leaning Haaretz newspaper, Lieutenant General Benny Gantz said Iran was systematically approaching the point at which it would be able to decide on whether to build a bomb, but had not yet made that decision. “It still hasn’t decided yet whether to go the extra mile,” he said. Iran Threatens Pre-Emptive Action Amid Nuclear TensionsComments Off Iran would take pre-emptive action against its enemies if it felt its national interests were endangered, the deputy head of the Islamic Republic’s armed forces was quoted by a semi-official news agency as saying Tuesday. “Our strategy now is that if we feel our enemies want to endanger Iran’s national interests, and want to decide to do that, we will act without waiting for their actions,” Mohammad Hejazi told the Fars news agency, NBC News reported. Iran announced air defense war games to practice protecting nuclear and other sensitive sites, the latest in a series of military maneuvers viewed as a message to the West that Iran is prepared both to defend itself against an armed strike and to retaliate. The U.S. and Israel have not ruled out military action against Iran’s nuclear program. The official news agency IRNA said the four-day air defense war games, dubbed “Sarallah,” or “God’s Revenge,” were taking place in the south of the country and involve anti-aircraft batteries, radar, and warplanes. CSM: What would happen if Iran did get the bomb? The drill will be held over 73,000 square miles near the port of Bushehr, the site of Iran’s lone nuclear power plant. CONTINUED at MSNBC. |

The Mitt Romney Problem, Part II: Foreign Entanglements(3)
Continued from: The Mitt Romney Problem, Part I: Smaller Government. “If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.” – James Madison Foreign Entanglements: Mitt Romney is like the world’s dumbest used car salesman for war. While that might sound like an unfair and unjust observation, let’s look at this guy’s ideas on what our foreign policy should be. To be frank, his actions either call for immediate war or create and perpetuate the environment for war. If Mr. Romney were to have his way, we’d be locked in wars with Iran and China not to mention all the other ones we’re involved in at the moment. Also, who’s to say that this guy wouldn’t pile on even more wars with his careless actions due to his inability to understand why other nations hate the American Empire. Let’s first look at Iraq, an issue that Romney has either been confused by or has flip-flopped on, the latter is more likely as that is his modus operandi. On whether or not he has supported the war, Mitt’s stance has been cloudy to say the least. The main reason is that there isn’t any consistency between the different times he’s been asked the question. Recently in December of 2011, Romney said that if he had intel that said that there weren’t nuclear weapons in Iraq, then we shouldn’t have invaded that country. In fact, here is how that interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd went down:
Odd, considering what he has said before this interview. During a 2008 presidential debate, Mitt Romney said the Iraq War was “a good idea worth the cost in blood and treasure we have spent. It was the right decision to go into Iraq. I supported it at the time; I support it now.” For the record, it was well-known in 2008 that Iraq didn’t have any weapons of mass destruction. You see, Mitt Romney’s stance in the Iraq situation is all over the place. Like most answers he gives, the words he speaks are dependent upon who he is talking to or what the political climate is at the time. Romney, like the professional politician he is – yet claims he isn’t, will say anything to win the hearts of the voter. The reason I have started with this example is to show you how soulless the man is and how his stance on the other foreign entanglements, which I’m about to get into, could be nothing but pandering bullshit and probably is. On the ongoing war in Afghanistan, Romney has given us a giant spoonful of his bullshit rhetoric. He’s said that he will refuse to talk to the Taliban. Well okay asshole, how do you expect to get anything done or solve the problems over there if you aren’t willing to talk to the other side of the conflict? Romney is either a complete fucking idiot on this issue, a total coward or just pandering to the GOP voters in order to get cheap pops at the debates. So with the moronic stance that Mitt Romney has, what can we expect for the future of the United States-Afghanistan relationship? Well, contrary to the sort of hype and bullshit that these politicians and pundits try to feed you, we cannot conquer Afghanistan and force our ways on them. The country doesn’t have the structure of a typical nation. It is made up of feuding tribes that fight for dominance and supremacy; there isn’t one organized enemy to point your guns at. Sure, the Taliban takes the blame for everything but the issue of Afghanistan certainly isn’t as black and white as that. Besides, who gave the Taliban their power to begin with? Well, the United States did. Why? Because we were scared shitless of the Soviets during the Cold War and we training and gave arms to these men that we now call terrorists. If Mitt even listened to what the people in countries like Afghanistan said about us, he’d understand their hatred towards America. However, guys like Mitt (and Santorum and Gingrich for that matter) have all the answers and have apparently never heard of a little something called “cause and effect”. If he had, he’d know that these people are sick of us being in their country swinging our dicks around and telling them what to do. Common sense is just too fucking much for some people to muster! On the issue of Libya, Mitt has also pandered and always found himself on the side of the issue that best fits his situation at the time. In March of 2011, around the time the conflict started, Romney immediately came out in a radio interview and said that Obama waited too long and should have acted earlier. He said that the president’s handling of the situation made him look “weak” and that we should have led the charge instead of following NATO. Jesus, where do I even start on how ridiculous his statements are? The truth is, we shouldn’t have been involved.. AT ALL! Once again, America intervenes and oversees a regime change. Throughout history, this action has always proved to be disastrous. Also, Romney apparently, at that time, didn’t care about the Constitution as the invasion of Libya wasn’t properly brought before Congress. None of this matters though, as Romney flip-flopped again and again on this – like every other issue. Less than a month later, Ol’ Mittens was in Las Vegas to speak to the Republican Jewish Coalition. When asked about his stance on Libya, Mitt Romney ignored the concerns and refused to provide an answer. In fact, it was reported by Las Vegas Review-Journal that:
Writing about this situation, Daniel Larison of American Conservative said:
So while Romney went from bashing Obama for acting too late and then went mute on the situation, he then flip-flopped completely and took the position that Obama was acting too aggressively! Mitt wrote an op-ed for National Review where he stated that Obama should have just enforced a no fly zone, this way Libya couldn’t bomb their own citizens. Right, the Libyans bombing the Libyans is what we need to worry about? Has Mitt seen the pictures of Tripoli before and after the NATO strikes? I think NATO shouldn’t have been flying over Libya because they treated the damn place like a litter box in the house of a cat hoarder! Romney then decided that maybe he did like the Constitution and that the way this war started, being that it wasn’t approved by Congress, suddenly had Mitt’s panties in a bunch. He wrote:
Well shit man, you were all for it only a few months earlier, what-the-fuck-ever. Shortly after that he was quoted as saying:
Funny he should say that since Gaddafi was killed shortly after that. After Gaddafi’s death Romney said:
Apparently he wasn’t too concerned with who would take over for Gaddafi, as he was worried about it a few weeks prior. The truth is, the “freedom fighters” that the United States and NATO helped and have propped up as the new dictators are comprised of Taliban members – you know, those people Romney refuses to talk to. Point is, Mitt is all over the place on this shit and the term he is often times associated with, “flip-flopper”, is a massive understatement! On Iran, Mitt Romney is already geared up to go to war if he is elected president. He feels that if they are developing a nuclear missile, then it is America’s job to go over there and bomb the bejesus out of them. The truth doesn’t matter to guys like Romney, even with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta recently admitting that Iran has no immediate plans for a nuclear warhead. Nope, who cares about the truth, lets just keep selling lies to the American people and push the nation towards war with Iran. But what’s the real issue here? If it is known that Iran is not making a nuclear bomb, then why is Romney (and also Gingrich and Santorum) so quick to go to war with them? Could it be because they just don’t want Iran working on getting any sort of nuclear capabilities or is it something more sinister? Well, Romney wants to put serious sanctions on Iran, which will just harm the innocent people there and in turn, create another group of people who would have a reason to hate us. Romney also wants to focus these sanctions on the CBI (Central Bank of Iran). Why does Romney want to try and cripple the Iranian financial system? Maybe it’s just a way to thank all of his top ten contributors, each of which is a major banking firm. Now I am not trying to play conspiracy theorist here but when you destroy a country’s financial infrastructure, it isn’t hard to move your banks in and start trading off of the resources of that toppled country. When that main resource is oil, it isn’t hard to see where this is going. Hell, former economic hitman John Perkins has made a career out of writing about this stuff, which is a lot more common than people think. What Romney should be doing is trying to tap into the growing liberty movement in Iran. The youngsters there want to be free and generation after generation, regardless of what their monstrous Iranian government tries to do to stop it, the people become more and more Americanized. Our influence on the younger culture of Iran is paramount and for a so-called leader to bomb them instead of reaching out to them, as the guard will change eventually, is completely careless, reckless and vile! It’s obvious that Romney doesn’t care abut the people of Iran or he just chooses to be ignorant of what is actually going on over there. This brings me to China, a country that has more in common with Iran than most people know. This is because China also has a younger generation who are sick and tired of the archaic ways of their leaders and want nothing more than a freer society that resembles something along the lines of the American Dream as opposed to the stifling grip of communism and tyrannical control. Instead of recognizing this and working towards a better situation with China through free trade and friendship, Mitt Romney wants to get stricter and punish China, who we do a lot of business with. Mitt Romney wants tariffs and sanctions and all types of stupid crap, which will just hurt China and hurt us in the long run. Romney believes the fairytale that if we make business difficult for those we don’t like then somehow they’ll bow down to the great and powerful America and thus jobs and prosperity will magically return to the United States. I guess Romney can’t wrap his head around the fact that a tariff is a tax that will just be pushed on to the end consumer, that being the American people. Essentially, we will have to pay for this form of punishment from China, as they will just pass the buck to us. Doesn’t Romney the self-procliamed King of Business understand how this stuff works? He talks about how China needs to be slapped around because they manipulate our currency. I guess Mitt fails to understand something else. The truth is, we manipulate our own currency by allowing the Federal Reserve the power to print money and manipulate the markets! Romney wants to punish China over an issue where we are the real criminals! I hear him talking all this trash about being strict and not rolling over for the Chinese but I don’t hear anything about shutting down the Federal Reserve. Oh yes, I almost forgot, Mitt has all those big banks in his pocket and he wouldn’t want that! Mitt Romney’s stance with China can only lead us down one path and that is a trade war with the biggest manufacturer in the world. We will lose more American jobs, people will buy less from us and our currency will continue to be devalued because this puppet of the corrupt financial system either can’t see for the forest for the trees or he has to obey the masters who own his campaign. On foreign policy, Mitt Romney is a joke and a whole slew of disasters just waiting to happen. For someone who claims to be so business savvy, you’d expect him to bring some actual knowledge to the table. His understanding of foreign affairs and economics is about as on par as that moronic blowhard Bill O’Reilly. Chances are Mitt, like O’Reilly, has probably never heard of Keynesian economics. He certainly doesn’t know how to take this great country of ours and pull it out of the depths in an attempt to set it back on the right track. Mitt Romney’s foreign policy will cost us so much money that our economy will become a sinkhole. The damage is already damn near irreparable and Romney will only make it worse. This shuckster should either open a used car lot or a pawn shop because if he has his way, we’ll be in a few more expensive wars and in a trade battle with China. Mitt Romney wants America to wear cement shoes to the pool party. “Domestic policy can only defeat us; foreign policy can kill us.” – John F. Kennedy Continued shortly in Part III.. |

Panetta Admits Iran Has No Immediate Plan for Nuclear WeaponsComments Off Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says Iran is laying the groundwork for making nuclear weapons someday, but is not yet building a bomb and called for continued diplomatic and economic pressure to persuade Tehran not to take that step. As he has previously, Panetta cautioned against a unilateral strike by Israel against Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying the action could trigger Iranian retaliation against U.S. forces in the region. “We have common cause here” with Israel, he said. “And the better approach is for us to work together.” Panetta’s remarks on CBS’ Face the Nation, which were taped Friday and aired Sunday, reflect the long-held view of the Obama administration that Iran is not yet committed to building a nuclear arsenal, only to creating the industrial and scientific capacity to allow one if its leaders to decide to take that final step. – PressTV/YouTube/Washington Post Dominant Social Theme: Iran is evil. War is in the offing. Free-Market Analysis: Over the weekend, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta admitted on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that Iran was not seeking to make nuclear weapons. OK, we can all relax now, right? Not quite. Panetta went on to caution that Iran was seeking a “nuclear capability” and that this “concerned” him – and presumably others as well. Who are the others, we ask? President Barack Obama? The military? The CIA? Israel? No, we have another hypothesis. We think the current crisis is a manufactured one and that Iran’s “capability” – whatever it is – has little to do with any contemplated war. There will be war, if there is war, between the West and Persia because the West NEEDS a war. Already, in the West, the alternative media – often a beacon of truth and hope – is explaining there will be war because ISRAEL feels threatened. But this is not quite true, either. Israel is a creation of the power elite and it is the Anglosphere power elite that is currently seeking war, in our view. It seems to need or want a war to prop up its failing central banking system. It is the failure of the financial system, proceeding apace, that gives rise to this talk of war, to the military tensions, to the tendentious statements made by Washington, DC and to a lesser extent by European and Israeli leaders. What other conclusion can be reached? Iran HAS no nuclear weapons. And even if it did, is Iran somehow more evil or unstable than North Korea, which is evidently bent on increasing a nuclear arsenal that it already has built? But Iran, it is said, can target Israel with nuclear weapons. Yet North Korea can do the same with South Korea. Compare the “tensions” and rhetoric and one has to conclude that a double standard is being applied. It is seemingly a situation where Iran’s ongoing nuclear program is simply a tool designed to unlock wider rhetoric. Here’s a further excerpt from a Washington Post on the subject: The comments suggest the White House’s assessment of Iran’s nuclear strategy has not changed in recent months, despite warnings from advocates of military action that time is running out to prevent Tehran from becoming a nuclear-armed state. Iran says its nuclear program is only for energy and medical research, and refuses to halt uranium enrichment. Several Republican candidates have called for a tougher line against Iran, saying they believe it is committed to building the bomb. “If we re-elect Barack Obama, Iran will have a nuclear weapon,” said Mitt Romney. “And if you elect Mitt Romney, Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.” Rick Santorum has said that the U.S. should plan a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities and “say to them that if you do not open up those facilities and close them down, we will close them down for you.” Iran has opened two dozen of its facilities to international inspectors, but has refused in defiance of the U.N. Security Council to suspend its uranium enrichment. Panetta did not rule out launching a pre-emptive strike. “But the responsible thing to do right now is to keep putting diplomatic and economic pressure on them to force them to do the right thing,” he said. “And to make sure that they do not make the decision to proceed with the development of a nuclear weapon.” We can see from the above excerpt how strongly the drums of war are beating. Panetta, while admitting that Iran has no weaponized nuclear program, will not rule out a “pre-emptive” strike. The entire scenario seems to be some kind of power elite dominant social theme. These fear-based themes are essentially tools used by the elites to stampede Western middle classes into giving up wealth and power to global institutions specially constructed for that purpose, such as the UN, IMF and World Bank. In this case, we are not quite sure why the Pentagon – an elite-oriented institution – has decided to focus so intently on Iran. We are sure, however (as we have pointed out previously), that the powers-that-be are creating an Islamic crescent arc in the Middle East by destabilizing secular regimes and replacing them with Islamic ones. This is ongoing … and perhaps the malicious rhetoric surrounding Iran is merely part of a propaganda process intended to further demonize the region preparatory to a full-on regional war. Modern wars need years, even decades, to foment, in our view. In the Internet era, this is even harder because people’s natural skepticism about being manipulated will surely be fueled by the fodder provided by various alternative ‘Net news. Iran/Western tensions seen through this lens are perhaps preparatory and do not indicate an immediate state of hostilities. On the other hand, the amount of weaponry now emplaced in and around Iran certainly gives rise to concern. Even a war planned for later can be generated sooner by mistake (intentional or not). View the video below and make up your own mind.

The Politics of Superman IV: The Quest for PeaceComments Off
I recently re-watched 1987′s ‘Superman IV: The Quest for Peace’ and I was quickly reminded as to why this film is by far the worst in the series. It completely lacks the utter awesomeness that was ‘Superman’ and ‘Superman II’ and even though ‘Superman III’ is arguably a suckfest, it did have Richard Fucking Pryor and an awesome fight between Superman and his evil doppelgänger, which made for great cinema when I was a really young lad. ‘Superman IV’ however, was an incredibly poor effort at cashing in on the franchise while Christopher Reeve needed a large vehicle to get his personal political message across. In fact, the only way he would do a fourth film, was if he was allowed to write it and to add his political ideology to it. Unfortunately for us comic book and film fans, he used one of the greatest heroes of all time to convey that message. The film more or less begins with the potential threat of nuclear war between the United States and the Soviet Union. Superman then gets a sappy letter from a young boy who is concerned about nukes killing us all. Superman debates if he should intervene and actually goes to the Fortress of Solitude to seek advice from the ghosts of his long gone ancestors. They warn him not to intervene and tell him to find another home away from Earth. Despite their advice, Superman goes before the United Nations and tells the world leaders that he promises to rid the world of nuclear weapons. Already, we are being introduced to a new kind of Superman who is willing to play God in an effort to create a global nanny state. Now while Superman’s motivation and efforts seem noble, he is interfering in the affairs of several governments and essentially turning himself into a know-it-all de facto dictator over us all. If Superman can take it upon himself to tell us all how we need to live or even die in this example, he is preventing mankind from making their own choices and learning their own lessons. Like big government, Superman assumes he knows best and is going to use force against humanity to mold us into the world he desires. Superman is robbing us of our freedom in what is a classic example of bad things happening because of good intentions. Superman is so high on his own Kryptonian ego that he fails to realize the unintended consequences his actions will bring forth. Realistically, one has to wonder if Superman’s selfless actions are indeed selfless or if he is really driven by a selfish agenda. Whenever someone thinks that they know what is best for everyone else and decide to take action, they show that they are close-minded control freaks who are under the strong belief that no one else can take care of themselves and make their own decisions. Superman assumes he is more informed than the rest of us. This is a Superman I do not like and essentially, he is on the road to becoming a supervillain. My good friend Shawn Bussler, while we were discussing this, added some great points:
All things to think about. Not only is the issue of eradicating all the nuclear missiles from Earth a big step towards tyranny but the fact that Superman addresses the United Nations, as if they are the real governing power is a slap in the face of his home country, the United States. Superman has always been a patriot and always exuded the very best of American Exceptionalism. Now he is basically telling the globalist bastards that he is their puppet and he is willing to put their interests before those of his own country. Now I can see the point in wanting global unity and world peace, I think any sane human would want that. However, Superman treats the UN as if they are a world government and in doing so, he dismisses the Constitution and American sovereignty. I’m not trying to say that he can only play for our team and that he shouldn’t strive to better things but he also shouldn’t act on gut instincts and take such drastic measures at the expense of his homeland. Superman’s actions undermined the United States and in effect, painted them as one of the villains of the story. Throughout his journey, Superman is once again confronted by a scheme from Lex Luthor. This time, Luthor with his nephew Lenny, devise a plan that could actually potentially destroy our hero. Taking advantage of Superman’s blind faith in his quest, Luthor plants a surprise in a nuclear missile. When that missile is launched, Superman intercepts it and throws it into the sun. Once the weapon explodes into the sun, a new menace is born. Lex Luthor’s new superweapon, known simply as Nuclear Man, grows out of the solar-nuclear explosion and flies back to Earth to cause destruction in what is the perfect allegory to all the points I’ve been trying to make. Nuclear Man wreaks havoc and nearly kills Superman a few times but is ultimately destroyed after being dropped into a nuclear reactor. Hey, nuclear power saves the day! Lex Luthor and Lenny Luthor are rounded up with Lex being sent back to prison and Lenny being sent to a Boy’s Town home. In the end, all is happy and well and Superman regains his senses, thus abandoning his egomaniacal quest to destroy all the nukes in the world. Maybe after all that common sense struck him and he finally realized that weapons of mass destruction could just be rebuilt and that his quest would be endless. The film ends with Superman once again undermining the United States and going straight to the United Nations to make a speech. In that heartfelt speech he declares that his mission only achieved a partial victory saying, “There will be peace when the people of the world want it so badly that their governments will have no choice but to give it to them.” While that sounds good, Superman has now gone from hero to villain to hippie. Unfortunately, governments will not just give peace when everyone wishes it. Government IS force but Superman is apparently too trusting in the decision makers to make the right decisions when the time comes. The same decision makers that made the decisions to make the nuclear missiles to begin with. The same decision makers that continually go to war, disregarding what the people at home actually want. The same decision makers that formed governments to begin with and invented war when the world was already in a state of global peace. Poor poor Superman, you’ve fallen so hard and so far that you can’t even see the forest for the trees. Is this the protector of Earth that you want? A guy reacting to his gut that can’t properly assess a situation that has godlike power to carry out whatever mission he pleases? Whether the film ended on a happy note or not, given enough time, this Superman would once again take it upon himself to forcibly shape the future of our world and everything in it. While he promotes and wishes for peace, the world could never achieve it with Superman standing guard atop the United Nations building. The truth is, this story was borderline ridiculous for several of the points I already made. In reality, there is no way that all the nuclear weapons could be rounded up and destroyed. Even if this could happen, what is to stop the nations of the world from building more? Also, if you were say China or Iran or North Korea and Superman, who you’ve always associated with America, swoops down into your country and rounds up your nukes, would that not be an act of war? Wouldn’t people in countries that were forcibly disarmed become paranoid over the fact that Superman may have missed some somewhere and therefore, they are now sitting ducks? Apart from that, would everyone in the world just trust Superman to do the right thing and eliminate them all? No one would get paranoid when this guy started missile collecting and fire some of theirs off before Superman was able to get there and stop them? And even if Superman stopped those missiles, what if other nervous leaders got freaked out by the missiles that were being launched and they started launching their own as a countermeasure? Could Superman stop every fired off nuke in the world? It’s easy to just think that he can fly around and force his will on everyone and disarm them but there would be real repercussions that would be catastrophic if not apocalyptic. In trying to save the Earth, Superman would be the last being standing on a smoldering heap. You see, even if he could remove all the weapons of mass destruction, he couldn’t force the evil out of evil men’s hearts. In fact, his actions would only anger them more and would spawn other forms of attack. Look at 9/11, that wasn’t done with a nuclear missile. If there is a will, there is a way and if evil men want to strike at the heart of whatever they feel is their enemy, they will still try and sometimes succeed. It’s nice to fantasize and wish that there was someone like Superman who could save the world from itself but ultimately, it is up to man to do this.

Occupy Wall Street: Heroes, villains or just losers?(5) You should probably read this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this to understand where my economic philosophy is coming from. Anyway, apart from reading those, you should probably already see what is wrong with this movement. *This is directed at those who wrote these silly demands and anyone who has adopted them as their own personal demands. I know there are good people protesting that get what’s going on. I tip my hat to the few of you. Over the last few weeks a new movement has risen from the ashes here in America. I guess when the right has the Tea Party, it should be expected that the left would have to answer with their own grassroots movement. And like the Tea Party, this new movement known as Occupy Wall Street isn’t just comprised of one specific group of people. It is full of people from all different walks of life. There is a melting pot of several different political ideologies and I’m sure many of these people, just like the Tea Party, are convinced that they are doing the right thing to help better our country and save us all from economic peril. Unfortunately, like with many movements in this country, there seems to be some confusion between capitalism and corporatism. Here are some of these OWS idiots that are really confused by their own maroonish doublespeak.
These people, despite their idiocy, are probably good people they are just unable to allow their view of the world to be challenged, even by logic and reason. I guess protesting blindly is easier than dealing with reality and owning up to your own responsibilities and life decisions. As far as the OWS organization goes, I know that the “demands” of this group, as posted on their website (here) don’t necessarily fit with everyone who is out protesting against Wall Street, however this group is the driving force of this movement. They have organized this thing from the very beginning. This list of demands should scare anyone with their economic wits about them. It should really frighten anyone with a bit of common sense but I understand why these ideas are attractive to the lazy entitled fucks who chose to go to college but now can’t afford it because they are too busy sitting at rallies to go and apply for a damn job. Sitting on their asses smoking hookahs and strumming guitars with their other underachieving buddies while not even being sure what they are protesting can’t be the cause of their undoing. Nope.. it has to be Wall Street’s fault. But at least they feel good about themselves today! Anyway, this list of demands from Occupy Wall Street is complete bullshit and doesn’t really make a lick of sense, well to a normal hardworking person that has some basic knowledge in economics anyway. So let me break it down for you line by line and explain to the unenlightened why their strategy isn’t just foolhardy, it is laughable and borderline ridiculous. The problem with it is that it reads like a series of random tweets strung together as a blog. I’ll do my best.
M’kay.. if you can’t see all the things that are wrong with this demand I’m not sure I can help you but I’ll try. You see, in a nutshell a “living wage” is, according to Wikipedia, “the minimum hourly income necessary for a worker to meet basic needs (for an extended period of time or for a lifetime).” The needs included in this are shelter, food, utilities, transport, health care and even recreation. Essentially, a person working forty hours a week should be able to afford these things without having to get a second job. A living wage is incredibly problematic. First of all, it doesn’t actually help the impoverished and long-term it will cause more harm than good for everyone. One of the reasons is due to the high-cost of implementing and managing this sort of legislation. Like with everything the government does, where does the money come from? It comes from the taxpayers (that’s you). However, I understand that this movement thinks that there are seemingly unlimited funds that can be ganked from evil corporations. Truth is, even though you OWS peeps believe that corporations should be contributing to this stupid idea, they don’t have bottomless pits for pockets. To be forced to pay up in an effort to give fair living wages to those who may be less-skilled prevents a corporation from giving more money to incentivize the highly-skilled workers. Eventually, the highly- skilled workers will stop giving a fuck and no one will benefit. You can’t ride on coattails forever and without consequence. Another problem with living wages is that if you give someone an inch (especially a lazy entitled fucksack) they are going to take seventy miles. How long would it be before lobbying groups start demanding that their products or services are essential for man’s survival. If these lobbyists succeed, which some will, how much will the living wage have to increase? It is a never-ending cycle of shit that we would never be able to shake off. Besides, all this whining about corporations and lobbyists corrupting politicians and empowering Wall Street would become pretty damn hypocritical if this is the route this takes. Just a little bit of common sense should reveal that this IS the route it would take and therefore this is completely counter-productive to what the Occupy Wall Street organizers truly want. And is that inflation that I smell? How else are you going to sustain an unsustainable economic policy? The first demand also calls for an end to free trade and for the government to re-impose tariffs on ALL foreign goods. This is completely asinine and it is obvious that the author of these demands has never read Friedman, Mises, Rothbard, Hayek or Hazlitt. Tariffs are bad for business, as is an elimination of free trade. Not only is it bad for business but it is bad for foreign policy. It divides us from the rest of the world and builds barriers instead of bridges. When we all cooperate and have the freedom to choose who we do business with, we all win. Tariffs do not benefit family farming and manufacturing as the above demand states. Keeping it as simple as I can, tariffs make products that reach our shores from foreign lands cost more. Who pays for that cost? You do! So does this force you to buy American? Does that really matter? Either way you are forced to pay more. This fallacy that foreign companies delivering cheap goods is somehow immoral and destructive to our economy is ridiculous. This fear of jobs being shipped overseas has become a regurgitated talking point that represents a lack of understanding of how we all benefit from free trade. The last thing this enormous first demand calls for is a twenty dollar an hour minimum wage! What the fuck? So do you want the living wage or the minimum wage? A living wage is typically higher than a minimum wage but a twenty dollar an hour wage is insane and well beyond the amount it would take for someone to live. This calls for everyone to make a MINIMUM of $41,600 per year! There are 312,000,000 people in the United States. When you multiply the number of people by the demanded minimum yearly salary you get $12,979,200,000,000 dollars! That’s just under $13 trillion! Our entire national debt that is strangling us is $14.7 trillion! So essentially these idiots want us to somehow magically dish out almost the equivalent to our entire national debt on a yearly basis! Nope, these people are perfectly sane economic wizards.
Do I even need to tap into this one? Have you paid attention to the criticism of Obamacare over the last few years? If after just these two demands you can’t see the socialist, if not communist, tendencies of this movement, you have to be completely ignorant to the fundamentals of either philosophy. In retrospect, this is just something else that these punk ass parasites want for free without having to really work for it. The people leading this movement are calling for the government to grow exponentially in a way that will take care of absolutely every aspect of their lives. Some people just refuse to be adults and make their own mark in the world. It’s easier to have everyone else wipe your ass apparently. But I shouldn’t be so insensitive, I shouldn’t come across as so unkind. What I should do is be tolerant of this idiocy, right? I should explain why it is not a good idea to be a complete fucking loser and a burdensome leech. Truth is, I’ve covered the health care issue already in my article “The Five Developmental Stages of the Progressive Beast, Part V: Barack H. Obama, Hope, Change & Health Care“. I don’t really need to rewrite what I covered there in a whopping 1,900 words. I think I, as well as several dozen other writers or pundits, have been outspoken against the tyranny of universal health care for quite some time. I’m tired of beating a dead horse. Unfortunately, you still unenlightened folks aren’t tired of asking for handouts and welfare that you have no intention of ever paying back because to do so, for you, would be immoral. However, for you, it is morally right to expect others to pick up the tab because you haven’t developed the skills to compete and survive in the real world. The thing is, universal health care isn’t going to solve anyone’s problem. Medical care is expensive, no one denies that but eliminating competition and forcing people into a poorly-run government alternative is only going to make the problem much worse. Besides, it is government involvement that makes health care expensive right now! So how is more government involvement going to fix the problem? A question I always ask is, “What has the government ever done well?” Apparently to these dreamy OWS organizers the answer is “everything”. If you want to continue down the road of crony capitalism and corporatism, go for universal health care. For this group to not see the hypocrisy of this request boggles my mind.
Man oh man, this is really their third demand. Shouldn’t this be part of the first demand that calls for a living wage? It is like the author of these demands jotted down a quick thought and forgot to re-organize this list before publishing it. In any event, I guess we are revisiting the living wage issue. So just when you thought the living wage demand was crazy, thy are now demanding it regardless of employment! So do they want minimum wage or a living wage? Which is it? Why isn’t this made clear. I assume that the minimum wage is for those working and the living wage is for those who are or aren’t working. Am I to assume that they are calling for a collection of both? Now a living wage is usually more than a minimum wage and I broke down how much it would cost to give out their proposed minimum wage of twenty bucks an hour. So imagine getting the equivalent to twenty bucks and hour (minimum wage) and then more than twice that (living wage)! Wow! There would be no more poverty! Everyone would at least be in the middle class. Too bad no one can afford this and in the end, this would make us all dead broke. This demand is completely and utterly preposterous! To even entertain the idea that this is somehow possible is fucking ludicrous! They might as well ask for ten bars of gold to be handed to them by leprechauns every morning they wake up and grace us with their presence. At the end of the day, who the hell is going to work to provide for those who do not want to work? Where is the incentive? How long would it be before everyone quit to milk the living wage regardless of employment status? When no one is working, then who is paying for it? The answer: no one.
Oh Jesus, here we go. Yes education is expensive but there is also education that isn’t expensive. Almost anyone can go to community college and get a good education for next to nothing compared to big universities. At the same time, who is to say that we all need college? College isn’t for everyone but we’re all programed to accept the fact that this is what someone is supposed to do after high school, just as we’re all programed to get married, have kids and buy a house. The reason I am even using this as an example is to point out that if college is free, everyone is probably going to go. Well, maybe not everyone but a lot more people will go to free college than go to college that they’d have to pay for. While it may seem good to encourage more people to expand their education beyond the high school level, it will be our tax dollars paying for all these half-assed students looking for a free lunch. Apart from all that, why in the hell would you want the government to handle your continued education when they can’t even effectively run the current public education system? While test scores and student performances continue to plummet, you want to introduce this system into universities? Do you really want a surgeon to cut you open that was educated by a public university? Really? You do? Like health care, part of the reason why education is so expensive is because of government meddling and their involvement. The crony capitalism and corporatism has infiltrated the colleges and driven costs up. Basically OWS calls for an end to these things by calling for more of these things. Why? Because they don’t have a clue how this all works and really, I doubt they care.
I had a huge article debunking all the bullshit surrounding alternative energy. Read my article “Recycled Myths & Renewable Scams” for an extensive analysis of every major alternative energy source. I’m not going to rehash all my talking points from that massive article but I will give you a brief rundown. To start, the entire world is currently dependent on fossil fuels for everything. In fact, you can’t even create most of these other alternative energy sources without using fossil fuels in the process. Fast tracking a process to bring fossil fuels to an end makes absolutely no sense if you understand how this stuff works. OWS obviously doesn’t. Now there is nothing wrong with trying to work towards getting away from fossil fuels but one has to be realistic about it. Every other energy source comes with its own big list of pros and cons. Just because a bag of goods is sold to you as something, doesn’t mean that the sales pitch was accurate. This is the case with most of these green energy alternatives. You have to keep in mind that the green movement has a pretty diabolical agenda but then again so does Occupy Wall Street based off of their list of demands.
The question I have is that if they want us to use an entire trillion for infrastructure, can we subtract it from their living wage and minimum wage demands? Nope, I doubt they’d go for that. At least they don’t have a problem forcing the rest of us to pay for it. The fact that they are asking for this makes me realize that they have no idea how much a trillion dollars really is. Do they think that Wall Street or the government can just write a trillion dollar check? They’re aware that we are already trillions in debt right? Oh but the Federal Reserve can just print more money right? Yeah, the problem with this whole movement is they don’t even know who the enemy is, more on the Fed at the end of this article.
Awesome, these parasites want us to throw around another magic trillion that we can somehow manifest from thin air. This demand is equally ridiculous as the last one and virtually the same. Sure we need to take care of our environment but lets be real about it. Where is this money going to come from? I mean the running tab for these demands is insane and we’re only about halfway through this list here! Again, these people just don’t know how the financial system works and their impression of economics is like something from a Narnia book. I guess shit just magically appears! Must be a cool dream. As far as the nuclear power point, again alternative energy is nowhere where it needs to be to take over. Nuclear power may seem scary when buying into all the hype but it is an efficient source of energy and pretty damn safe when managed properly and not struck by a combination of earthquakes and tsunamis. I already debunked many of the anti-nuclear arguments in my article “Recycled Myths & Renewable Scams“.
Actually, everyone should have equal rights if they follow the Constitution. If individual rights are applied to all we would all be able to live equally. However even in the days of the Founding Fathers individual rights were grossly violated as slavery still existed. Point is, if people would respect individual rights we would all be on a level playing field. We don’t need an amendment to legislate this we just need to follow what has already been written. What OWS is calling for here however is actually a violation of individual rights. Once again doublethink and doublespeak take over and they try to fight against what they perceive as tyranny by employing the same method that they are fighting against. Let me explain their folly. Essentially, these guys want the government to come in and regulate fairness. This never works, in fact to force people to comply to this “fairness” and “equality” creates an imbalance by having a negative impact on the forced party’s individual and property rights. You can’t force people to play nice and to do business with each other. I mean, you can but at the end of the day it is tyrannical and it violates their constitutional rights. This is the same argument that Barry Goldwater used, which ultimately didn’t get him elected but just like then, the people today can’t see the forest for the trees. Civil rights laws were tyrannical and monstrous and only made the leviathan bigger. This is just another classic example of how bad consequences can occur as the result of good intentions. Although these OWS shitcocks don’t care, they just want as much free shit as they can get.
I don’t oppose this demand in theory but I do have my two cents to add. If we were to allow open borders migration, we would have to end the welfare system as it is. In fact, I wrote about this in my article “Conservatives & Aliens“. However, following the track record of this group’s demands can only lead one to the conclusion that they want to implement this with the welfare system still intact. If that were the case, this would be a fiscal nightmare! People would flock here and our population would explode all because everyone would be trying to get a living wage as well as a job with a minimum wage of twenty bucks an hour. I laid out how horrible this would work out with our current population numbers, well imagine how bad it would be with an explosion in immigration. Again, who would pay for this? These OWS kids haven’t really thought this shit through. Besides, eventually we would run out of money. It would happen pretty fast mind you and then where would these people go, what would we do? We’d all be poor and trapped in an overpopulated mess with a shattered economy. Wall Street would certainly fall but so would America. There is absolutely no way we could ever sustain these idiotic policies. Even a kindergarten economist should see that!
Here’s a demand from this group that I fully agree with. In all honesty, the electoral system in this country is corrupt and time and time again these ballot machines have failed. There have been tons of issues over the years, most notably the 2000 presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore and the 2004 presidential election between George W. Bush and John Kerry. There were also some fishy outcomes during the 2010 midterm elections. Harry Reid’s sketchy victory over Sharron Angle comes to mind. Essentially, the process we have now is pretty fucked and unreliable. It makes one think that this whole thing is rigged. Not to jump the gun or anything but what is one to think with these closed, secretive electoral processes? We need to control our votes and everything needs to be out in the open. To suggest otherwise is to accept and perpetuate electoral corruption. Why would they want it to be so shadowy if they weren’t tinkering with something? The ruling class is tricky and they will stop at nothing to dictate the direction of government.
This is beyond idiotic! In fact, this may be the dumbest damn thing on this list of demands and that’s saying a lot! Did Tyler Durden write this? At least he took the bull by the horns and took out the credit card companies like a champ. However Hollywood heroes are typically just that, Hollywood heroes. These people have obviously watched ‘Fight Club’ too many times and are convinced that this is the morally right thing to do. Ah.. that youthful angst! So OWS really wants to erase any trace of debt whatsoever? So essentially, what they are saying is that they are unwilling to man up to their responsibilities as human beings and they are unwilling to fulfill their contractual obligations with whomever because fuck it, who wants to be forced to pay for what they use. These people are so weak and deluded that it is disgusting. Don’t give me that evil corporations preying on innocent victims bullshit, you idiots just don’t feel that you are obligated to pay the price for the things you have benefitted from. Everything should be free! So again, who the fuck is going to pay for this? Someone has to pay the debt, you can’t just wipe it out unless you intend for EVERYTHING to collapse. Are these people really this fucking ignorant? Here’s an example. If I am a bank and a customer comes to me for a loan, I should be able to look at his credit and determine if the person deserves a loan and if they do, what the terms should be based off of their own personal fiscal responsibility. Why would I give a loan to someone who has horrible credit and who obviously doesn’t intend to pay me back? This whole thing is so ridiculous, trying to even argue against it is pointless because the person who would support such a demand is a helpless weakling whose word is worth dirt. Man the fuck up people you’re embarrassing yourselves!
Are you shitting me? This really just goes with the last demand and my points are virtually the same with this one. Credit agencies exist for a reason and that reason is to inform us how others we do business with handle their money. Granted credit agencies are in the pocket of Wall Street and help contribute to the corruption of corporatism but to flat out outlaw them is just careless and brainless. The pure and utter stupidity of these demands is mind-boggling! Man oh man do these fucktards want to absolve themselves of any responsibility whatsoever! Let’s fight for a new America where we can be free of tyranny, responsibility, obligation, tuition and our word! I’m surprised there isn’t a demand for weekly drop-offs of Slim Jims, Djarums, Sno Balls and Red Bull.
Damn it I’m spent. Do I need to rip this shit apart anymore? Unions are garbage and they stifle productivity, eliminate jobs and do way more harm than good. Not to mention that they are typically full of thugs ready to crack your skull open if you oppose them. Unions shut doors, they certainly don’t open them.
These fuckers are so goddamned delusional that this whole laughable list has lost its charm and the funny is gone. Has a single person involved in organizing this movement and their demands ever read a real book on economics? Maybe they’re just recycling some indoctrinated bullshit that they got from some Marxist professor they don’t intend to pay. That final statement in reference to this list is so nonsensical it gave me a migraine and made me throw up a little bit. These demands would destroy our economy, cripple our country and cost us countless jobs. We would be in one hell of a shitpickle if these totalitarian stooges had their way. It makes me wonder who is actually behind this movement because there is absolutely no mention of the Federal Reserve, who they should be fighting against instead of Wall Street. There is no mention of our involvement in all these wars: Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, the War on Drugs and the War on Poverty. There’s no calling for Obama to be held accountable for his crimes and his involvement in Wall Street-Washington cronyism. The best place to start looking at is at the author of this list of demands. His name is Lloyd J. Hart. Apparently he intends to go to his own rally but he needs a ride. To me that is hilarious and says so much about the cockpuppets running this show. I’m surprised the list of demands doesn’t call for free Subaru Outbacks. See for yourself in the picture to the right, that was taken from his profile on the Occupy Wall Street website. I hope you found a fucking ride Lloyd. By the way, check out his Facebook (here), which he no longer uses after trolling and spamming people while only acquiring 16 likes. It has also come out in the last few days that people like George Soros and Van Jones are supporting Occupy Wall Street. Why is this not surprising? While they publicly offer support, I wonder if they themselves are pulling any strings? You see people, you have to know who and what you are dealing with. I know many of you involved in this movement don’t follow this bullshit philosophy or want these moronic demands, you just want to end the tyranny that exists between Washington and Wall Street. The people organizing this want so much more however. Realistically, they are calling for pure totalitarianism. These people believe that the more the government gets involved in these matters, the better off we’ll be. Yeah, that same government that is owned by Wall Street. Do you see the hypocrisy? The problem is, for those of you who truly want to end the tyranny of the financial system, you are fighting the wrong battle. Yes Wall Street is corrupt but the real battle that needs to be fought is with the Federal Reserve. I implore all of you that haven’t to read G. Edward Griffin’s book “The Creature From Jekyll Island“. You need to educate yourself on the tyranny and unlimited power of the Federal Reserve. Until we address the real enemy, going after Wall Street is pointless. To those of you going down there because it just “feels right” and it “feels good”, stop being fucking joiners and spend some of that time sitting around in the park by putting a book in your hands and educating yourself on what it is you think you know. This country breeds too many weak parasites trying to suck the blood of those of us who truly work hard and earn the fruits of our labor. Don’t be one of those vampires, they are the ones who create these problems that they are trying to solve. Not everyone is a joiner though, there are guys like the dude in the video below that give me hope because not everyone down there can be classified as blind sheep acting on an impulse.
How refreshing. At least someone down there knows the enemy. |

Unanimous: Supreme Court blocks states’ climate change lawsuitComments Off *Taken from Yahoo News. The Supreme Court blocked a federal lawsuit Monday by states and conservation groups trying to force cuts in greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. The court said that the authority to seek reductions in emissions rests with the Environmental Protection Agency, not the courts. The ruling was 8-0. EPA says it will decide by next year whether to order utilities to cut emissions of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. The lawsuit targeted the five largest emitters of carbon dioxide in the United States, four private companies and the federal Tennessee Valley Authority. The Obama administration sided with the power companies in this case. |
