J. Lo Accused of Supporting Al-QaedaComments Off Jennifer Lopez has been called out by United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI)—the group claims that she’s supporting Al-Qaeda by endorsing the car company Fiat. So what in the world does a squat little car have to do with the biggest terrorist organization in the world? Here’s the deal: a Fiat subsidiary called Iveco sells vehicles in Iran, and some of these vehicles have allegedly been used in terrorist activities. It might seem like a small connection to J-Lo, but UANI is taking it very seriously. The group recently created an ad parodying Jen’s “My World” Fiat ad by taking scenes from the commercial and splicing them with graphic images of the protests in Iran. While Jennifer Lopez cruises the streets with the wind in her hair, people are shown bloodied, lying in the street, and dying. There’s a shot of a motorcycle on fire and people being hanged. It’s a little too graphic to show here. A narrator imitating J-Lo’s voice says over the video, “Fiat and the brutal Iranian regime … or the people of Iran. I hope concerned citizens don’t make me choose.” It’s certainly a provocative ad, and one that Fiat can’t be too happy about. At the end of the video the company’s name is said to stand for Facilitating Iranian Acts of Tyranny. It will be interesting to see if Fiat and J-Lo go after UANI for using their products and images in the ad—it’s fairly obvious that the group didn’t get permission from Jennifer Lopez or the company to do so, and its parody ad is making them both look bad. However, taking legal action could also end up backfiring if more people get on UANI’s side. According to the New York Daily News, the group believes J-Lo is in the wrong because she’s “serving as a spokesperson for a company that freely does business with a regime that is developing an illegal nuclear weapons program, financing and sponsoring terrorist groups including al-Qaeda, has killed American and NATO soldiers and is recognized as one of the world’s leading human rights violators.” Of course it’s highly unlikely anyone informed Jennifer that Fiat had a company selling cars in Iran, and it’s also doubtful that terrorists get all of their vehicles from Iveco. J-Lo has certainly been having a difficult time with her image lately, so she might just be praying that people ignore UANI’s claims, or perhaps she’s hoping that Fiat’s legal team will deal with them. She’s already having enough trouble defending her relationship with 24-year-old dancer Casper Smart, so she doesn’t need the added stress of defending her relationship with a car company. And there’s no telling what kind of deal she signed with Fiat—she could lose a lot of money or get sued for breach of contract if she suddenly cuts ties with the company like UANI wants. ‘Anonymous’ Operation Against Los Zetas Full Speed AheadComments Off *Taken from the Daily Caller. According to the Anonymous “IberoAmerica” Blog and former Anonymous spokesman Barrett Brown, the hacker organization’s plan — to release a list of collaborators with the bloody drug cartel Los Zetas — is back on. Doubts about the project, dubbed #OpCartel, swirled amid concerns that the operation could result in reprisals from the violent drug gangs. The Guardian reported two members of the operation have said Anonymous is putting the brakes on their whistleblowing scheme due to concerns that people could be killed as a result. Hackers planned the operation in response to the alleged Mexico City kidnapping of a member of Anonymous, only one of several incidents of the Zetas targeting tech-savvy information activists. In September, two bloggers who denounced the cartel on various social media were disemboweled and hung from a bridge in the border city of Nuevo Laredo, with a chilling note from the Zetas warning against further online criticism. |

CIA Chief’s Letter Confirms Torture Did NOT Lead to Osama bin LadenComments Off My Two Cents: Fear turns a blind eye to truth. Let’s see Fox News report this. I mean, considering that most of the people over there are so adamant at promoting torture.. wait, wait, sorry.. they call it “enhanced interrogation” or something like that. End Two Cents. *Taken from Raw Story. A private letter from CIA chief Leon Panetta to Senator John McCain (R-AZ) confirms that the so-called enhanced interrogation techniques put in place by the Bush administration did not reveal intelligence about Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti, the courier that eventually led the U.S. to Osama bin Laden. The letter was obtained by The Washington Post and a CIA spokesperson confirmed its authenticity. “Let me further point out that we first learned about the facilitator/courier’s nom de guerre from a detainee not in CIA custody in 2002,” the letter stated. “It is also important to note that some detainees who were subjected to enhanced interrogation techniques attempted to provide false or misleading information about the facilitator/courier. These attempts to falsify the facilitator/courier’s role were alerting.” “In the end, no detainee in CIA custody revealed the facilitator/courier’s full true name or specific whereabouts,” Panetta added. “This information was discovered through other intelligence means.” Former Bush officials and some Republicans have insisted that enhanced interrogation techniques like waterboarding resulted in information that eventually led to bin Laden’s whereabouts. Last week, Sen. McCain wrote an op-ed piece in the The Washington Post claiming that bin Laden’s death should not be used to justify torture. In his article, he cited information he received from Panetta, but he did not release that information to the public. |
